I'll try to make this short! I entered an estock.marketplayer.com contest by aol this month where you get 100,000 to invest, and, talk about blind luck, out of 78,000 contestants I am at #1 as of this morning but probably #2 tonight with a net of 160% down from 176% yesterday, for April. Problem is I've run out of ideas and the ones I had yesterday sucked. After today, I'm most likely down a couple of hypothetical thou. but very much in striking range for the grand prize...I dont even know what it is. I think its 5g....So, my problem is.. I have lost ....totally... my feel for the market ....sold all longs and will cover shorts (all of which tanked today) in the morning............My question...Does anyone have a feel for the next 3 trading days.(long, short) Contest ends Apr. 30.....or a particular stock ready to rocket. I'm leaning toward long tomorrow and have a few orders in for real volatile Nasdaq stocks that are ,short term oversold, but not very confident. Any ideas????

this is a high stakes game. the market seems to be on an upward move right now.

i would go for broke:

50 percent nasdaq index
25 percent cmgi
25 pick another wild one.

100 percent-cross your fingers.

No problem guys,
Just couldn't get the feel for the general direction and should have concentrated on the earnings reports of the day more......
down to third place and falling to the leader so it looks like I will short various recent big gainers on the Nasdaq for Mon. Not that it is the most prudent move but gotta go against the grain. If anyone is interested I'd reccomend playing the game next month because there are some very good stock cappers.(gotta have aol)
Hope you guys are kicking ass in bball!

good luck, what with being up against the world. i really don't see much difference in handicappings sports and the market. you do the research, study the team/market psychology, makes your picks and hope for the predicted outcome. if you do your homework, you will win more than lose.

i may give it a whack next time, just for fun, of course, perhaps shooting for the top 25%.
