Marlins Park - Tailgating

I am new to the South Florida area and want to catch a Marlins game this season, would any of you happen to know if there are tailgating areas at the new stadium? Some friends and I will be going to the game, but all the information I can find online is only for the garage parking. There are some surface lots near the stadium which look to be suitable for tailgating, but not sure. Coming from Miller Park where tailgating is half the fun, not sure what to expect.

like u said there are parking garages around the stadium and a cpl of suface lots but have not seen any tailgating ---the stadium is built in the section know as little havana which is a residential area and not a necessarily a safe place to be wandering around drinking --- have been there twice in the last month and felt safe in the garages but not sure i would want to be walking the streets at night :shrug:

Oh great, well at least it's a day game. I guess we party before then just drive there and watch the game. Thanks for advice
