Over 59 Marshall/Virginia Tech

Marshall brings in the no-huddle spread offense vs. one of the quickest defenses around. Va Tech will try to put a lot of pressure on Leftwich by blitzing, but he should be able to counter when he sees the blitz coming with QB and HB draws and traps. He will be moving around a lot in the pocket to slow up some of the Tech defense and the receivers will be using motion to avoid any possible double teams. The Herd welcome back receiver Darius Watts, who missed the opener vs. Appalachian St. Along with Josh Davis and Denero Marriott, the secondary will have their hands full. In 13 games last year, Marshall surpassed 59 total points in 10 of those. The defense played well against Appalachian St. two weeks ago, but this a big step up in class. The Hokies will try to pound the ball with Randall at QB, and Marshall will be putting eight sometimes nine in the box to try and stop the run. This will open up some opportunities for play action, so expect a few big plays from Virginia Tech. The Hokie special teams are probably the best in the country and if Marshall faces any 4th down situations in territory where a decision can be made on whether to go for it or punt, expect them to go for it. They don?t want to take a chance of a block or a return, since their return coverage is not so good. By doing this, they can continue drives with their potent offense and if they fail to get the first downs, Virginia Tech will be starting with good field position.

Virginia Tech all the way

Virginia Tech all the way

This defense is to good for this Marshall team. Since they likely will not be going for it of fourth downs, expect VT to roll.

I woulldnt say so my friend. Marshall has 3 1st round NFL picks on that offense. That Marshall offense is the best in the nation...hands down. If Va Techs D was to dominate Marshalls O...then why would the total be 57.5!? Va Tech will not be able to handle all the WRs....trust me, I have seen these assholes tear up the Rockets in the MAC Champs games since 97. VA Techs D is good I`ll give you that...but they better have the best DBs in the nation to cover Darious Watts, Josh Davis, and Denirou Marriot. On top of that...they have to cover one of the top 5 WRs in the nation...Dariosu Watts - who wil break Randy Moss' records at Marshall. Anyhoo...good luck! :toast:
