that seem odd-low to anybody else?....

took margarito 7 to get martinez out of there...his only stoppage?...

they thinking that cintron doesn`t have 7 in him?...

surprising to me...

Bizarre line
maybe I got this fight all wrong
but I actually was considering the over 9.5 at other sites
now they drop this line - 7.5?
And yet they make the odds for the fight so close.
Strange.

I would think it coasts over this.
Maybe they think that these guys are going to slam on each other.
My thinking is that Cintron is going to have a lot of trouble with this slick southpaw.
I see a wide decision or late stoppage for the Spaniard.

line has me shaking my head...this guy`s a very slick lefty....

maybe they`re thinking cintron is damaged goods?...

or maybe we`re overestimating martinez`based on bunema`s win over karmazin?...

i don`t think so....martinez IS 44-1 and he took bunema apart...he`s talented,no doubt...

i love this line too. even if martinez is being overhyped, he has tremendous speed, footwork and boxing skills, and should use them to avoid Cintron's bombs in the early rounds. Cintron does hit extremely hard, Margo just had an incredible chin and will at the time. People think of Cintron as a quitter, but he put out everything he had in the second Margo fight, he was just outgunned. It was brave of him to even get in that ring.

I see this starting off as a boxing match, then soon a cat-and-mouse game as Cintron looks for the big shot, which probably never comes. Either way, 7.5 is a great line.

Also, Im looking into Ali Funeka. He's known for beating Zahir Raheem, but I heard Raheem was knocked out well after the bell, but the ref, in Funeka's hometown, couldn't call it a foul, lest he'd DQ the hometown guy.

Im going to watch some youtube of him, but at under -200 I'm loving Nate. He's frustrating yes, but his boxing IQ is brilliant, he has a high punch output, he's multi-dimensional, and most importantly, he's dirt broke! With all those kids and a huge matchup with JMM/Diaz waiting, it would be incredulous for him to show up absent-headed.

I thought Nate was going to lose to Guzman....but Guzman is DAMN good.

I like this matchup better for Campbell. As you said, having to put food on the table for your family is HUGE motivation to win a fight.

I think Nate might just want this more than Funeka.
Certainly, looking at the fight on paper, all the physical advantages go to the South African.

But I am real close to taking Campbell here. If he stays close to Funeka all night, he can pull this out. If he fights like he did in the Hiatschawayo fight (eating jabs and right hands), he will lose. But I think he will come with the right game plan.

over 7.5 looks like candy

martinez is smarter boxer than estrada + suarez + ndou combined

and ndou made it the distance

hmmm

i'd go with nate + juan diaz to set up the rematch

for light weight supremacy

glad to see we both ike Nate!

i watched the raheem fight, here are my thoughts:

funky's fairly stiff and immobile, thought raheem didnt move enough to test him, so its inconclusive. raheem stood in front of him and moved straight in and out, exactly what NOT to do against someone of that reach

he moves his feet into his jabs, he isn't stable enough with his jab, and Nate should be smart enough to time him and figure out where his feet will be after throwing the jab.

raheem was basically a sitting target, who rarely moved and punched simultaneously. nate can do that.

raheem is much shorter than campbell, with a much smaller reach.

raheem stayed on the outside at the end of funky's punches. BIG mistake. nate will likely fight him on the inside, where he's more experienced and used to a higher output of punches. nate has long arms but still finds room inside, we don't know if funky's long arms can fight on the inside.

funky is a head-hunter, thoguh in fairness raheem was shorter to the point that body work wouldnt have made sense, especially with the success of hitting raheem's head. he needs to go to nate's body.

similarly, funky brought his jab back to his shoulders, not his chin. that may be b/c his shoulders were in line with raheem's head, or it could be a technical flaw for nate to exploit, by coming over his jab to his exposed face.

all in all... nate can figure this guy out. he should figure him out. if he doesn't, it's somewhat embarassing for someone of his boxing iq and in his desperate straits.

when pinnacle drops the line, im probably going big on nate.

i like nate to beat funk, and i like nate to beat my fav fighter juan manuel marquez.

that k.o.came a split second after the bell...both guys threw right hands and funeka`s happened to land...would have happened bell or not...it was split second...

i`m now leaning nate,btw......i`m pretty sure he`ll pressure funeka...under 11.5 at -110?....

tempting..

watch martinez vs margarito...martinez,in his 18th pro fight at welter(1st fight outside argentina) just got worn down by the pressure...he was fighting an awful lot in the trenches...i don`t consider cintron a "pressure" fighter...more of a boxer/puncher...

i wonder if margarito was soaking his wraps back in the day?...:nono:

truth is,though, that aside from margarito, cintron will probably be his toughest fight...so who knows?...

i agree about your call gw, i just watched the fight a few min ago. the punch was thrown almost exactly at the bell, and landed after the bell. given the circumstances and funeka's domination to that point, the ref made the right call.

i also like the under, funeka might become overwhelmed by nate's boxing prowess

Weasel, in regards to the Sergio Martinez-Antonio Margarito fight

I watched the last few rounds on youtube...and you correctly pointed out that fight was really fought in the trenches

it was also year 2000....9 years ago
maybe it's a mirage, but Martinez seems to be a completely different fighter now

giving angles....fighting from the outside....popping the jab....slipping shots...

also i called him a Spaniard earlier...my bad
he is born in Argentina, living in Spain now

I do agree that Cintron is probably the next best guy he has faced....definite lack of solid comp
but I'm a believer so far

That being said, we all know, if Cintron lands cleanly he can stop anybody

i`m on martinez....they also had the earlier part of the fight and martinez was doing pretty well...a flash knockdown in the first for margarito(he went to the ropes but not to the canvas)...

that was at 147..

over 7.5 -150..........it`s not moving:lol: ...apparently i`m not the only one afraid to stick their toe in the water...

over 7.5 down to -135....

i`m curious what the perceived outcome of this fight is in the under bettor`s minds.....obviously somebody thinks one of these two is way overmatched...
