Yup, I am just going to stop posting.

Great win by the Terps. Cowan carried them on his back after a terrible second half. If this team ever learns how to put two halves together they can beat anyone in the country. They got just enough from Ayala and Wiggins to win.

My record posting on MD games this year has not been great but I do like this one. I simply think this is a tough spot for the Terps. Lots of hype, loses by others will put them in the top 5 and likely #1 seed line if they win, game day coming next weekend, etc. Definitely could be wrong, but just too much hype for me.

Also putting in an anti DC parlay Ohio State/Penguins (Caps have been terrible lately and been a great play against).

Sorry Coach, missed this today.

Game is going about how I thought. Michigan State can not play much better and I do not think they will shoot as well in the second half or rebound as well. And now that bomb 3 just makes the second half better. Maryland and Cowan will be better, as always, in the second half.

Just hit this very hard:

Maryland -4 SH

They just can not put together a complete game. I got sucked in last night at halftime but I thought it was a good bet based on how the whole year has gone. Turgeon got out coached for sure. I am by no means a Turgeon fan but it is hard to be overly critical when they keep winning and are still leading a tough conference, but last night for me was the perfect example of what is wrong with this team. His defense first mentality has taken away from the offensive game of the players he needs most: Wiggins and Ayala. Both were horrible last night and they can not beat good teams without them. Scott also has to get better and learn how to rebound. The lack of depth in the post is a big issue for them with teams that have post presence and can rebound. Losing the Mitchell twins is starting to show (and that is on Turgeon). Michigan State turned up the heat on Cowan and Smith and gave everyone a recipe for how to beat them. Maryland has a lot of talent, but is just not a great team offensively. I will see what happens in the Big 10 and NCAA tourneys, but I am still not a believer in Turgeon's ability to take this program to the next level and beat elite teams.

I think Tuesday's game at Rutgers will be extremely telling. If they lose, they very likely will not win the regular season title and is a very bad omen for the rest of the season. This is where coaching matters, so we will see what Turgeon has got as this season could start to slip fast after last night.

Rutgers -1

As much as I want Maryland to win this game and guarantee a spot atop the conference, I just can not put my money on them. Just a massive game for them to prove they deserve to be atop the conference, but from a betting perspective, it is very difficult to bet that they will shoot the ball well. The last game was a horrible offensive game that MD won at home 56-51. I expect more of the same ugliness tonight but Rutgers, like Maryland, is a much better team at home. I will be routing for Maryland, but I do not have the confidence in their offense to get the job done on the road, so my money is on Rutgers.

I think today is the biggest game of Turgeon's career at Maryland and I do not think I am exaggerating. I think it is an absolute must win for him to get this team back on track and to rally the troops behind him (and I do not care what SVP says!!). I still think they need to show well in the tournaments, but winning a share of the Big 10 title is a big deal. Even more of a big deal is not collapsing down the stretch like in the past and going into the tournament with the right attitude. Should be a great atmosphere in CP today, they are rested (sick of Turgeon saying they are tired as that is a lame excuse) and there should be plenty of motivation as it is Cowan's last home game. Will all this translate into a win? It should, but can they be trusted to shoot the ball well is another story. Michigan is a good all-around team and can match up with Maryland. I think they will give Maryland all they can handle. If Ayala or Wiggins does not step up offensively today they will struggle to win because Michigan has bodies to throw at Smith and smaller guards to take on Cowan. I think we see a spirited effort today as the mood on campus has soured a little and Turgeon knows how important this game is. Will it be enough to win and cover? Not so sure, but I think

Maryland Ov 139

is the play for today. I think this this game will have some pace to it, so unless one team is just terrible on offense, I think we see a game in 70's. Always a risk to bet the over in Maryland games as a lot of their games are ugly, but I have a feeling we see a better offensive game today.

Easy winner.

Congrats to the Terps, they came to play today. If they play like that they are very, very hard to beat. You can see the difference when Ayala and Wiggins play well.
