How do you specify this as an equation.


Elise got an 88, 84, and 96 on 3 quizzes. What does she need on last one to average a 90 on the 4th quiz.

I know the answer is 92 bc.... 88 +84+96+92 = 360/4= 90 avg.

I don't know how to write as an equation

(88 + 84 + 96 + x) / 4 = 90

88 + 84 + 96 + x = 360

x = 92

would an 89.5 average round up to a 90?
