i am a general surgeon. if he had it done laparoscopically, and it was non-complicated, recovery time is anywhere from 7 days to 3 weeks. if the operation was done open or the appendix was perforated, recovery is 4-6 weeks at best.

Matt Mauck was at the hospital late Tuesday. Doctors determined he suffered from food poisoning, said LSU sports information director Michael Bonnette.
Mauck felt better Wednesday and will be at practice today as the Tigers return from their 11-day break for final exams, rest and recovery, Bonnette said.
