Outright plays (total stake per play: 1pt)

Craig Kanada to win 40/1 e.w. @ Victor Chandler and BetFred
Kanada is a player re-born. He has been a member of the PGA Tour twice in the past (1997 and 2001), failing to register a top-10 finish, but he won twice on the Nationwide Tour in the last two months of last year to earn his PGA Tour Card for the third time and he has yet to be outside the top-20 after 72 holes in any of his four starts this year. With the emphasis appearing to be on accuracy around this course, a continuation of his six-month run of form should earn him another high finish this week.

Greg Owen to win 50/1 e.w. @ BetDirect
An emphasis on accuracy should also suit Owen who is a classic 'fairways and greens' player ... it is largely when he arrives at the green that the problems begin! But that may be of smaller consequence this week around such an impressive course as the Greg Norman-designed El Cameleon. And he did show a welcome return to form last time out, finishing every round inside the top-10 and ending in 4th place in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. I certainly wouldn't have expected 50s to be available on him.

Dudley Hart to win 50/1 e.w. available generally
Another player is far more accurate than long off the tee, so these selections have no chance if this turns out to be just a 'smash and putt' contest! With Hart the only concern is that he scratched from the Nissan Open last Tuesday. The presumption is that there is no injury (and no news of one has been found) and on that basis, he is one of the most in-form players in this field. He was never lower than 13th during the five rounds of the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic en route to finishing 8th, he followed that with a 23rd place finish in the Buick Invitational and was the sole first-round leader in FBR Open before eventually finishing 20th. That's very impressive form against this field and, again, this price was rather unexpected.

My book sent me an email notifying me. They were pretty quick off the mark as other books still have him listed.

Just looking at the late additions, this price stands out:
O'Neal 500/1 Vic Chandler 1/4 1-5

A step up from N'Wide but in this field with finishes in last 3 events including Panama of:
4-8-12

Between Green Bay and Iowa City
Lightly capped, plus a late start this morning . . . sticking with what I know . . .

Outrights:

Andrew Buckle(28/1) e.w.
- - When he burst in to my consciousness and impressed the hell out of me in Indonesia in 2006, I "got to know him" while tracking him closely through his performances of 2-mc-2-mc-mc-1-mc-27-mc-3-3, and he's had some similar trending since. I backed him at San Diego, I faded him in Phoenix, this week he carries my cash.

Bill Haas(40/1) e.w.
- - Ball striking is his strength, and traveling the globe is nothing new to him.

Jose Manuel Lara(66/1) e.w.
- - When a shorter track without huge greens has you pay a price for missing greens, or when the wind is up, Lara's stock goes up rather than down. An interesting appearance, I think he has a chance to show well.

Matt Kuchar(50/1) e.w.
- - I thought he was one to watch and I still think so, and back in January I even had him pegged for Tucson while the big boys were at the matchplay, before I remembered the second-tier event was far removed from Tucson to a venue that 's not my first choice as the best fit.

Anders Hansen(125/1) e.w.
- - Traveling to the Yucatan levels the playing field quite a bit, and he has the game (if not the fortitude) to take advantage.

Cheers for that background info, very appreciated - again he's playing a rollercoaster round - but 501 certainly was too large.
