Not trying to take steam from Boxs weekly thread but I thought this one deserves a thread of it's own.

Does anybody think Mayo/Vargas is going the distance? These guys truly despise each other minus the hype. I can see each guy losing a little pop as they are fighting @168 but I think they will be swinging for the fences from the bell. You know Mayo will be. You can't just box Mayo, he won't let you do that. You have to hit him with something significant to keep him off. I think it's a pic em but w/Vargas looking very faded in the 2nd go with Shane, I kind of like the dog to win by stoppage around the 6th-7th. Mayo has taken 2 big beatings in his recent fights and he might not have much left in the tank himself. I'm looking at the under on this @-160 9 1/2rds. One of these guys is going to go. Any thoughts?

I just put down a max wager @-160.

I played the Under 9.5 -135 a few weeks ago thinking the number was way too low and I could always scalp it later, but I'll probably let it ride as I like the play myself at those odds

definitely a good bet. pinnacle has the under at -141. ive noticed there isnt mention of books used on this forum, do you guys discourage that?

i parlayed the under with an alsan win for near 1:1. i might bet it straight again.

a mayo ko prop is in order as well. vargas is done, mayo wants to extend his career and seems to need the money. he takes and throws better. vargas would be wise to do a lot of clinching and make this a boring-ass fight.

Well this fight has got lottery written all over it. I'm looking small on Mayorga and small on the stoppage, depending on the odds. Both fighters have questionable chins. Vargas at 168 is going to be a fukking 180lb monster at ring time. Mayorga will be a blob. They both might gas early and lean on each other the whole fight.

Too many unknowns. I hate betting on bad fighters. Small bets only here.

Honestly I cannot really make up my mind about this fight.

Logic tells me that this fight cannot go long, I'm also a little surprised that so many people back Mayorga.

If he cant get to Vargas early, Vargas will wear him down with his body punching.
Vargas will also have a huge weight advantage.

I took Vargas inside the distance at +170 and under 8.5 at +110.

As I havent been lucky with my under bets I' m contemplating to scalp either bet...

not sure about the questionnable chin part...i think the chins are decent(but,i sorta agree...not what they used to be)....especially considering that neither guy appears to have much snap left in their punches.....but, i totally agree with the rest....good post...

i caught the under at -135 also......and the worry,as conan and romi stated,is that these guys somehow survive the first 3 rounds and then hang all over one another due to exhaustion.....

also grabbed mayorga at +155 today....why not...he sucks, but,at least he`ll go balls to the wall until his emphysema kicks in...

if this goes past 4,it will get terribly ugly....but,theres another shot at getting this one under....once these 2 wobblies realize they`re shot, and if it really starts going south for one,i think a d.q. is a real possiblilty....if it starts going south,i don`t think either macho pinhead wants to look like an emasculated wuss at the hands of their mortal enemy....

"""Mayorga holding a photo of a chunky Vargas over his crotch, said "I'm going to knock him out. I hate him. I don't like him. I'm going to knock him out....I'm going to hit you like no man ever hit you before. I bet a million dollars at the casino that I'm going to win by KO...."""I'm not going to celebrate Thanksgiving on Thursday because I'm going to kill my fat turkey on Friday""".....(lmao..that`s pretty good stuff)........You're not going to remember anything until you wake up in the hospital the next day after I beat you down."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vargas holding his crotch stated, "This is your fat one.....I'm going to put you to sleep." After taking off his shirt, Vargas kept repeating "Who's the fata-- now? Who's the fata-- now?" 'El Feroz' had a whole slew of supporters repeatedly yelling at Mayorga 'he wants to cry.' "He looked like he saw a ghost when I took off my shirt," said Vargas later. "You could tell in his eyes and his face that he's scared of me now. The eyes never lie." ..................

if they didn`t have gloves on,i think hair pulling might be a real possiblilty...

i hate paying for this...i need to check the undercard....

First off i think everyone is right about the under. Can't see this one going anymore then 7. I kinda like Vargas here. I think Mayorga is just one of those guys that can motivate a guy to come in at his best. Mayorga could lose in a first round knockout and still act like he is unbeatable his very next fight. If they both came into the fight in tip top shape i would lean Mayorga but i just can't lay my money on this loose cannon. I will just watch. Good luck fellas. Oh and by the way the Cal/Kessler fight i thought Kessler was the better fighter and i agree with a lot of you that it was a much closer fight then of course the blow hard Lampley wanted everyone to believe (swear he bets on these) The problem with Kessler is that he ran into a guy who might have the best chin i ever saw. Man what a great chin can do for a fighter. good luck fellas.:00x31

I have more on the fight than I recalled. I put a max bet @-135 on the under earlier in the mnth that I forgot about. I also have a max bet @-160 on the same wager. I think that Mayo is going to force Vargas to fight, rather than box and I believe one of them will get caught. That's what I'm hoping for anyway. I'm a little nervous after last wks big loss. I don't have nearly as much on the fight as the Virchis over but if I lose it I'm back in conserve mode. GL to everybody!

BTW, what are they charging for the ppv? I'll be at work tonight so if someone can do updates it would be much appreciated.

i`ll try....if my `puter doesn`t crash.......people have done it for me...

it`s $44.95,i think....and comcast has started a nasty little trend in which they charge extra if you get the hi-definition feed.....

that sucks because you`re already paying a generic extra fee on your bill for a hi-def hook-up as it is....

i hate comcast...

Chill they will have him winning. they use two cards lol. They can say he was winning now since you can't change a thing. Cintron at least a little classy in interview.

Vargas looks a tad fluffy not much but a tad and the other idiot looks like he came in shape. And Box if you are around the zits have cleared up a bit with Mayorga.

Vargas saying its his last fight. I hope he doesn't pull a Berrara. If he does this might go the distance.
