Back in western Maryland most of the restaurants that weren't chains automatically used Miracle Whip instead of real mayonnaise. It didn't take long to learn to say "MAYONNAISE not Miracle Whip" when ordering. If a place serves me Miracle Whip instead of real Mayo, it's going back. Can't believe the reactions I would get, "what's the difference?".

Is it cheaper? Why would they do that?

And who would do this? Seriously? Why?

Hellmann's Real Mayonnaise 30oz jar $3.79
Hellmann's Organic Mayonnaise 24oz jar $634

I'm not sure I've ever had real mayo.

I know a few people that have never tried it, don't like the looks of it, don't like the smell of it, won't try it. They never had tuna salad, potato salad, egg salad, etc, etc either. I guess you're one of them.

I don't care which it is. I probably prefer mayo by the tiniest of margins. I will say that spreading mayo on the outside surface of a sandwich prior to grilling it, which I do like to do, makes for a damn fine tasty sandwich that is perfectly seared without being burnt or greasy

Hands down Miracle Whip. Try it as a coating on.....

GRILLED POTATOES
Prep time: 10 minutes plus refrigerating.

Microwave cooking time: 15 minutes.

Grilling time: 8 minutes.

2 lbs. red potatoes, quartered
1/3 c. water
1/2 c. Miracle Whip or Miracle Whip Light Dressing
1/4 c. chicken broth
2 tsp. dried oregano leaves
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. onion powder

Place potatoes and water in 2 quart microwave-safe casserole; cover. Microwave on HIGH 12 to 15 minutes or until tender, stirring after 8 minutes. Drain.

Mix remaining ingredients. Stir in potatoes; cover. Refrigerate 1 hour. Drain, reserving dressing mixture.

Arrange potatoes on skewers. Place on grill over hot coals (coals will be glowing).

Grill, covered, 4 minutes. Rotate skewers; brush with reserved dressing mixture. Continue grilling 4 minutes or until potatoes are tender and golden brown. Makes 8 servings.. :00hour

Both bad choices......i do Tuna salad 3 4 times a year. It's like what do you like most .. a dildo up your ass or the real thing from the guy at the Gay Nighty Club downtown.

I like both. Mom always used Miracle Whip, and I think each has its place. I think Miracle Whip goes better as an ingredient (in something like tuna salad), and mayo is better as a topping on a BLT or hamburger.

I've had all of those salads. I've just never had "mayo" in my fridge. Is there a big difference?

You have Miracle Whip instead or neither?
