I put one unit on Maidana by KO,TKO or DQ +1188. I don't see any way that Maidana wins a decision in this fight. I think Maidana has good power. He works the body well and follows it up with a nice hook punch. Mayweather Jr has a lot of distractions in his personal life and he's 37 years old. Your speed and reflexes are the first to go as a fighter ages. I think Maidana can catch Floyd and knock him out. I'm hoping Maidana concentrates on throwing good body shots. I believe that will be his key to victory. :director:

I think mayweather cruises

he's been talking up maidana too much trying to make him look dangerous

maidana is respectable but mayweather is two levels up + speed

I think Maidana has a punchers chance. Maidana is already in Mayweather's head. Mayweather was crying about Maidana's gloves, saying there wasn't enough padding. I think Mayweather is genuinely concerned about Maidana's punching power.

Mayweather opened at a -1200 favorite. In my opinion, those odds represent the Mayweather from four years ago. Today's Mayweather is 37 years old and slower. Father Time is undefeated. I have seen great fighters that were quick, lose speed and reflexes earlier than 37. Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, Mike Tyson the list goes on and on.

Mayweather probably will cruise, but I wouldn't lay -1200 on it. The odds on Mayweather have been going down all week. You can get him for under -1000 now and you know the public is all over Mayweather.

I'm getting +1188 on a Maidana KO/TKO. It is a bet that I have to win 07.76% of the time to break even. I think Maidana has a better than 8 percent chance of winning this fight. If Maidana wins it will most likely be by KO/TKO. If the fight is close, the decision will go to Mayweather because of boxing politics.

FWIW, I took Maidana +1100. He's got solid punches when he connects and he can punish the body, Mayweather has always been light on his feet and all it takes in one good connection to his left jaw and we could have a straight up upset!! I'd put a unit on the dog rather than spend a weeks earnings on the favorite in this part of Mayweather's career.

GL!!

Did you hear what he said post-fight?

I'm no expert, but I tend to believe what he said - that he deliberately changed his style in this fight to create toe-to-toe action for the fans.

I think he will win a rematch pretty easily.

He took the brunt of this guy's attack, blunted it, and was pretty much at ease by the end, scoring points and staying out of reach.

I agree with thong that it was much closer than I ever expected...the maj decision was much more palatable than the maj decision he won over canelo(that wasn`t close at all imo)....

credit to maidana for trying to fight the only possible way he could have to win by making it an ugly in your face brawl at a very difficult pace(much like jose luis castillo did back in the day)....unfortunately,after about 6 rounds, maidana started to feel the pace himself and just couldn`t sustain the heavy pressure that was putting floyd on the defensive on the ropes.....and it`s tough when you work hard throwing lots of shots that aren`t landing cleanly and the other guy lands fewer but cleaner, flashier shots that sometimes are scored more favorably than the blue collar stuff....

I think khan will be a very interesting fight for Floyd because of khan`s speed and reach...looked like collazo`s big k.o. of Ortiz made him think he was mike Tyson(unfortunately for him, he looked more like alfredo angulo).......

Floyd Mayweather is lying when he said that he deliberately changed his style to create toe-to-toe action for the fans. He said that same crap after the Cotto fight. Mayweather doesn't want to fight toe-to-toe with anyone. It's not in his best interest and he knows it. Mayweather has no power in his punches. Why would he willing stand toe-to-toe with another fighter?

Mayweather doesn't care about the fans. Fans have been waiting for him to fight Pacquaio for years and Floyd dodges him. Mayweather hand picks opponents that he wants to fight, not what the fans want.

Canelo was too respectful of Mayweather, and was made to look foolish, trying to box on Mayweather's terms, in his style. In any case, I suspect he's simply far too slow, even if he tried to be aggressive.

This guy looked a lot better, and had the right strategy, but I guess I disagree with most of you. Leaving aside May.'s claims, he clearly, to me at least, from the start, was not trying to escape Maidana at all. Just trying to keep his head out of the way and sway on the ropes. That gave Maidana the first 2-3 rounds, but tired him out some. Then he simply turned up the volume a little and passed Maidana. The second Maidana eased off at all, he was shown to be slower, and took the worse punches.

I hit Mayweather at 1:10, I'll hit him again harder next time. I think he did exactly what he said, for reasons of reputation and rematch. He could have danced away from Maidana from the start, I believe, and next match he will. He doesn't want any more cuts on his face.

I honestly thought that given the straight odds(over 10-1 everywhere)that Floyd by 12 rd decision" at -170 was a must play.....still can`t figure out why that was so low.....I`ll bet plenty of gamblers were perplexed looking at that decision prop and wondering whether it was a bit too generous....
