You're welcome, deliman. You are right about the work part.. put in HOURS studying AND closely watching them nags and it ain't paying off nearly as well as it used to lately. Working on changing that. Evey horse player has near misses, ESP. on some very nice payoffs but, I've had way more than my share recently.
Good luck at the good ole Meadowlands. Really enjoyed the big prices in those early Meadowlands days (didn't do good there though cause finding them closers that would just nip the speed at the wire ain't easy). The real race was the stretch drive; didn't like that too much. I'll always remember OPENING NIGHT at that track, man was that place FULL. EVERY window opened and lines at every one of them. Still remember who won the BIG race that night, Rambling Willie, and he ran for a church (purse winnings mostly went to a church). The N.Y. and N.J. circuit ran the cream of the crop of standardbreds. Those were the days John Campbell ruled the place. A lot of fun there.
After a few "free" Meadowlands tee shirts, jackets, and umbrellas ... and at the end of the night I realized that EACH "costed me" well over a hundred bucks, one night (The Meadowlands Pace Night) over $200.. I would drive right past the M. Lands to Yonkers. Did really good there.
Good luck tonight, deliman and thanks for the mention.
