North Texas -13 over Rice ***
To think I'm giving another team +13 pts vs my North Texas ...but when you see what they have done at home vs Conf USA teams they are winning by more then 13 pts.. NT is doing it with defense.. its impossible.. NT for the last 12-15 years has won with offense and defense has been an after thought.. 3 coaches have been fired but they get good athletes on offense.. 2 years ago when they fired their coach I got to sit right behind Grant McCasland at a Texas St game.. He was coaching for Ark St or Ark LR..about 5'6 with his hair plastered down with some gel...hard to believe he was a D-1 coach...until the game started ..vocal ,animated and in his players face..had his kids playing defense on the ball and off the ball... don't even remember who won the game but I said this guy can coach his ass off...well 2 yrs later NT fires their coach and names Grant the new coach...talk about a cultural difference.. but now 2 yrs later guess what.. NT is a good defensive team and 5-1 in the conf and have won 5 in a row and just beat La Tech by 1 at the buzzer 2 days ago...Gibson is there top gd but juco transfer Hamlet is a stud...shoots,passes penetrates and hit a floating buzzer beater the other day...NT is holding teams to 61 pts a game... that used to be a 1st half number... and this team lost Woolridge who transferred to Zaga and he was names the POY of the week West Coast conf.. and Smart.. where is he.. talk about instant offense ..but he is gone I think... Rice lost its last 2 games by over 13 points..they are 1-5 in conf and avg 73 pts a game and give up 74... Think NT defense shuts down a weak offense and at home and has enough offense to score and cover...
is it really possible that a team I like and love is winning... a Phillies fan, Knick fan,Army fan and Marist fan...that is pretty sad..but the Giants signed Garrett the Cowboys coach as Off coord...look out NFL east..and a rumor is going around the philles knew the Astros were stealing there signs.. but it didn't matter ..there is no sign for " meatball" pitch...

Texas actually played KU pretty tough for 15 minutes the other day..then the last 5 fell apart.. WV upset by a weak K-state team not sure what the ats trend is after Huggy Bear losing on the road and playing a home game next...maybe someone can find it..but in my blind mind it has to be 12-1 or close...Texas relies on its 3's but is road.. if they can't hit them at home don't think they can hit them in Morgantown.. maybe if they went to a half court offense they might have a chance...but think Huggy has his kids playing tough and Texas can't win on the rd..
OU +10 over Baylor **
Baylor is now No 1 in both woman and men..Baylor is really good but they aren't the No 1 team in the country..who wants it , think 6 or 7 teams have had it and all lost it...Bears play great defense and can score OU has Manek,Reaves and Doolittle ..Reaves needs to wake up because he is one of the best pure shooters in the country.. but Baylor struggled in last game and was down at half vs Ok St...OU blew away TCU but OU is 1-5 ats on the rd ...Butler,Bando Gillespie are all solid.. but think double digits is just a little to much.. OU hangs in there and only loses by under double digits...
on Thursday going up to Denton and seeing about 5 or 6 of my buddies from North Texas,,they have tickets to the UTSA-North Texas game ..and saturdays UTEP home game..
