MIAMI's crucial pass interference call

Should the refs make that call? I mean REALLY should they have made that call that decides the entire outcome of the National Championship? Yes he was on him but should it have been a no call? It really is tough to say. What about calling it incomplete and THEN the flag?

I HATE MIAMI - but no doubt they've got to be crying a little foul on that. I was sooooooooooooo happy to see Miami lose, but I can't help but think they got shafted a little on that call.

Congrats OSU

this game didnt come down to just that call. i think no call, he was there the same time as the ball. game over, flag was thrown almost 4 seconds after the play was over. however

Canes had plenty of chances to put this game away or tie it again forcing a 3rd OT.

clarrett strips ball off mia int in endzone, take a knee.

should have gone for the win instead of the tie in regulation. nice kickoff return, and couldnt put it away with a td

last series in OT. dorsey missed pass to WIDE open receiver in end zone, cant run a qb sneak ?? OSU did it twice. no roll out on the last play, d was comin hard.

shady shot on McGehee's knee, that was nasty.

cant be champions with 2 ints and 3 fumbles, cant expect defense to hold off that overload.

hats off to o s u backers, class A coach. glad big ten won

miami lost this game

any stories out from last nite's party ??

what do under players think aboot the pass intf call ???

I thought that it was the Capital One interference call.

I had no problem with the call, but a referee will always call incomplete even when there is a flag in the play.

I thought it was initially a bad call also until I saw the replay. The holding that occurred impeded the wr's movement, allowing none of the separation that his route would have given him, and the penalized behavior did not take place in the moment the ball arrived (as the brilliant Fouts so erroneously thought the ref was alleging), but a second or so before, on the route itself. I was rooting for Miami but it was the right call and Ohio St. deserved the win.

Speaking of crying foul, how about the officials blowing a call on Gamble's catch with a little over 2 minutes to go, he was held, not called, then made an incredible catch in bounds that is called out of bounds. They make that call and OSU runs out the clock on a 17-14 win.

Bottom line, Miami had the same chance in the next OT, yet couldn't score on 4 plays from the 2. If you're going to argue that one call cost them the game, it would be the same as arguing that OSU would have won in regulation had they not faked the FG in the 1st half. Bottom line is.....you don't know. Yeah that was potentially the last play of the game, but again, it was the correct call.

As an under player last night, I think the call with Gamble's catch being called incomlete or not holding was worse than the PI call. However, the PI call should have been holding, same penalty though. When Gamble cathces the ball in the 4th qtr, that was the under. Once it got to overtime you automatically assume it's a loser. 17-14 is the way the game should have ended.

EDIT: Actually, the official's first signal was holding, then pass interference. But the call was announced as PI. You're right.

Interesting responses. If this... if that... if its and buts were candy and nuts oh what a party we'd have...

But I guess I'm more skeptical of the LATENESS of the call. If I'm a Miami fan, which I certainly am not, I would be pissed beyond belief..... BUT yes Miami played a bad, bad game w/ all the turnovers and foolish decisions ie. the runback off of that INT in the endzone like mentioned above.

Glad Dorsey finally got exposed as an average QB at best though. 38-1 as a starter? Ok ok... but 38-1 on the best team in CFB the last 2 years. Still had Florida St had any brains they would have beaten them in the OB this year. Think if that had happened tho... it would have been Iowa vs Ohio St for the national title? Zzzzzz...... Prediction: Ohio St 2, Iowa 0.

Well if everyone believes that a referee should not decide the outcome of a game of that magnitude, then why does everyone forget that OSU was called for 2 pass interfernce penalties in the overtime periods. Don't hear anyone saying those were bs calls. Ohio State capitalized on their opportunities, Miami didn't.

If they didn't **** up the call on Miami to begin with OSU wouldn't have been called for the 2 pass int calls.

If the Florida State kicker didn't miss the field goal, Miami wouldn't of even been in this game.

Really nice to see you live up to your word and congratulate the Buckeyes, TCSN. Not really surprised, though.

Miami defender even admitted he held and interfered on the play. But naturally, the Mr. PD's of the world don't bother with details like that.

C'mon Dave,

I'm sure that Hoops could learn a ton from you in the marketing department. Teach him the one about having multiple URL's so one of the services is showing a profit. You do have one service with a profit, don't you?

I'm done on the OSU topic, you won't answer any question directly and the fact is you just don't recognize any defensive teams when they win the championship. And that's OK, cause they got the Circuit City  trophy.

Yep, I'm definitely Mr. Anti-Sales in regards to those who couldn't handicap their way out of a paper bag. Most of the posters on this board don't realize who you are and how you started on this board (and various others). Maybe a refresher course should be in order. The different aliases, the phony records, the bullshit on top of bullshit, etc., etc.

How many 'wagers' did you have on today's two football games? I'm thinking you had to find a way to have at least 52. Monopoly money and make believe (losing) bets galore..you are my hero.

Monopoly money? Hmm last I check I dared any of the shit talkers to come down & just see how I live & how comfortable I am yet everyone of you disappeared. So I have nothing to prove to any of you.

Hate to break it to you but not one person on the net gets to me as I just sit back & laugh.

Maybe I should run big bad Hoops & the rest of his team is coming to get me.

I never saw that 'dare', PD, but how did it work? I'd be interested! I'll be up that way this spring, would love to see your 'operation' and your life of luxury. I know from your prior posts that you live in a luxury condo in Manhattan, all financed by you selling picks and (betting?) so i'm looking forward to it! Show me a good time, man!

I *will* give you this much, after seeing your total BS on the net for the last 3 yrs, and after seeing 196 people call you on it, I finally saw the very first person that gave you any props at all. Hellah 10! Admittedly, he's kinda retarded ( no offense to the jsmooth types out there...honestly, i'm not like that), but it really did happen. I saw it!

Yes, of course it's because you are a 'good-ass capper at 22'...what else would it be?

Bashing other people? Nah, not really, but when you defend the money pit that is Mr. PD, you ain't exactly showing off your acumen, buddy. People can get hurt listening to crap like that and you're just too oblivious to know it.

Yes, you'd love to be my bookie. It's funny, when I was in college, I *was* your bookie, or at least guys just like yourself(actually most were much sharper and *they* were as sharp as a butter knife). Suffice it to say, I didn't go broke. Always betting with your emotions and always losing in the end. Bigtime. Consider *that* helping you out. I'm sure you won't, but that's what lifes hard lessons are all about.

Good Luck.
