I look at both these team's and honestly I think I could debate anyone on why each team could, should win. When I llok at the stat's in this game the number's are very close. Both team's have excellent defenses, with Miami's being in the top 10.It is a test of speed vs. size in alot of match-ups.The offensive line of Ohio St. dwarf's the Miami defensive front which looks like a solid edge, but when you see Miami's front four are all senior's who already wear a National Championship ring, well you see that they are a very gritty, talented bunch, that will not be manhandled.I think the biggest key in that area will be their ability to put pressure on Krenzel. It may surprise most that Krenzel's overall QB rating is actually a couple percentage points better than Dorsey's.So if the cane's aren't breathing down his neck I think he will have some sucess. On the other side of the ball Miami's quickness has got to scare Ohio St.The key will be their ability to stop the big play.If you think they can disguise coverages and confuse Dorsey, you are mistaken. He is one of the smartest QB's the j-bird has ever seen at this level. He will not beat himself. They also need to contain McGahee, not an easy task. The balance of the Miami offense will be a tough combination for the Buckeye's to handle. So not allowing the big play is crucial.
I'm generally not a trend kind of capper. I persoanlly think it is the biggest waste of time, and the value is questionable at best. It's like someone saying "Did you know Miami has won it's last 52 time's that they ,blah blah blah blah blah". My resonse to that is "I could care less, those stats and trends were made by boys' who are now retired from the NFL. ie Kelly,Kosar, and the likes of Testeverde so on and so on,and desicions made by Jimmy Johnson,Butch Davis" I mean give me a break with that crap.I want trends and stats based on THIS TEAM and THE TEAM they are playing NOW. I cannot give 13 points to a team who is undeafeated, who has shown the ability to play under pressure,Remember the last minute of the Purdue game, and the second half of the Michigan game? They have won with effort and guts. They have been without their MVP Clarette for a large portion of the season.Their only weakness is in experience, and that may be their undoing. But for my money I want the points in a one vs. two match-up,when your getting 2 touchdown's.I think it will be a hard fought, close contest through-out.The special teams, especially the kicking and punting game favors Ohio St.
One trend I do love in this game and I do think applies is the fact that of the last 15 match-ups with #1 vs, #2...............#2 is 13-2
Ohio State +13 (bet early) 4 units:yup
