I don't think anyone knows all the details of this Whole debacle but it sounds like neither side (the university or the Smoker family) is willing to let it out to the Public yet.
From reading the Detroit papers and sports forums, talking to people etc. just seems like this could be one of the largest scandels or whatever you wanna call it to ever happen. The stories of drugs and point shaving, etc are just running wild.
What we do know is Michigan St has lost it's last 7 against the spread and I believe the margin of losing against the spread in those games ranks as the largest margin of all 117 division 1A schools, which kinda makes you wonder.
The stories that are out there are just unreal. One such story goes something like this:
"Do you really think that MSU would want it known that they rented a special charter plane to fly four starting members of their football team to a Saturday game in Iowa City? These four missed the team flight Friday, and partied in a Lansing apartment doing blow and drinking until 4:00am Saturday morning... then got on their special charter plane and got blown off the field later that day! Wait until you hear who the other three who were with Smoker! No wonder no one wants to do any talking!"
MSU needs to come clean now as to what they knew about Smokers problem(s) and what things they did to get help for Smoker... (chartering another airplane to get him to a Saturday afternoon game after a night of partying isn't something that certainly helped him)!
The stories and rumors are endless.....will be interesting when the truth does come out.
Now is Michigan the play?? Might be with all the lack of focus,but I think I'll just pass on this one. Something smells a little fishy with this line....if you know what I'm saying
