Is anyone out there a God with MS Access? I am ok with it, but there are a few things I need to learn how to do.

First dilemna: My company only has Office 97 products. I know I know----but I work for the State:shrug:

I am trying to figure out how to make some kind of auto complete on my forms where if I type in a name, or a vendor etc it will automatically remember it or fill it in from another form I have filled in that name from. I have tried setting up relationships but must be doing it wrong, because it does not let me put any data in at all.

Dropdown menus are cumbersome for what I need to do and way too big.

I read that Access book for dummies and that does not help.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you need to identify a record source for your form.

It's in the form properties.

You will need a table to capture your info or else you wont be storing anything. Once you create a table and specify it as the record source for the form, you then specify which coulmns to store your fields in the Control Source property of your objects (text boxes, combo boxes, etc.).
