JACKSON, Miss. (AP) -- Former Alabama coach Mike DuBose was hired as the defensive coordinator at Division III Millsaps on Thursday.
DuBose, the Southeastern Conference coach of the year in 1999, was forced to resign from his alma mater midway through the 2000 season. The Crimson Tide finished 3-8, the second losing season of DuBose's four-year tenure.
He also endured a sexual harassment claim filed by his former secretary, and Alabama was placed on probation for rules violations on his watch.
DuBose spent a year away from football, then coached at the high school level in Alabama from 2002-04 before he was hired to join Dave Saunders' staff.
DuBose was also an assistant with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
He's the second notable name on the Majors' staff. Fred McNair, the older brother of Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair, coaches quarterbacks.
Terms of DuBose's contract were not immediately available
