The 2020 NFL season hasn?t started yet, and the Philadelphia Eagles are already being hit by the injury bug. Starting running back Miles Sanders will not play in the team?s opener Sunday due to a hamstring injury, the team announced Saturday.

Sanders, 23, will not travel with the team to Washington, D.C. He was a limited participant in practice during the week and listed as questionable on the team?s injury report heading into Week 1.

With Sanders sidelined, the Eagles will rely on some combination of Boston Scott and Corey Clement to carry the load against the Washington Football Team. Clement, 25, only played three snaps last season and went on injured reserve in October due to a shoulder injury. Scott, 25, emerged as a useful backup down the stretch, playing at least 20 snaps in each of the team?s final four games in 2019.
