haynes vs. jones

neither pitcher is worth looking at, as they both are in terrible form, both averaging right around a 7 era in their last 4 games.

using my 2nd grade math, i add 7+7 and come up with 14, yet the totals line is at 9.5?? are you kidding?

if we are getting set up on this one, so be it.

that is certainly another way of looking at it. i basically handicap pitchers and their recent performance(last 4), and how it compares to their overall season, in trying to spot a trend. i also look at lefthanders to see how the opposite team behaves against them, and that is it. i think nolan mentioned a few days ago that two terrible pitchers make for an under and maybe it will apply here.

i find it more comfortable to stay within my parameters in order to remain consistent, but recognize there are many more ways of handicapping.

i only play dogs, but other than tor and detroit i could not pull the trigger on any of the other dogs, so i had to wing it with totals to meet my contest requirements. i do feel pretty good with the over on this one, but must confess the last time i spotted such a wild disparity i got burned. what can i say? here we go again.

thanks for the input.
