The Minnesota Vikings trip to Pittsburgh will be very much in my thoughts this week. It works as the title for this thread.
Some stuff:
In two weeks, Chicago visits Green Bay and San Francisco visits St. Louis. At least one of those teams is likely to get caught looking ahead this week. Maybe all of them. That probably scares more than helps.
This might help. The story of Dan Snyder and his "feel-good" Redskins is gaining on the Bears. Now, it's a rematch. A veteran team. I found the value I seek. Washington is the play.
Did I mention Pittsburgh?
Lesser stuff:
Seattle's play is coming on and passing that of San Diego, and there is nothing much wrong with this spot, yet.
Thursday: Kansas City will have their hands full with Philadelphia, I think. A wager just for sport for me.
I'll probably be on New England. Or Buffalo or Detroit or Denver and so on as possible dogs.
Minnesota Vikings:
Power ratings and trap lines are not my criteria for analyzing this contest. And it's not cleats and weather.
I don't care whether it's a good wager, I insist on paying something for a front row seat to witness any further embarrassment in the slide from dysfunctional to delusional. But since I think it is a good wager, I'll likely add a couple units, but I have to remember to save some for next time.
Three weeks ago I felt sure I knew what team Minnesota would bring to face a Philadelphia team angry to protect their home field. I trust that that a tough minded Pittsburgh team will find something to keep them interested here. Is that the big issue?
I need to be fair. Minnesota surprised me some in being able to get home and hold things together. Now they just need to bust a move. You go, guys.
How relevant is this? Green has Cowher by days as the longest tenured head coach in the league still with the same team. One has a team with momentum and chemistry and one does not. I know what I think. Advantage: Cowher.
