ouch with Dubnyk nursing a 'lower-body injury' as I was hoppy on Wild at a better than +100 at Florida Panthers for Friday, as I was guessing they'd pull out the full effort to grab 2 points in this matchup between 2 pretty crappy teams, especially with a date at the Lightning the following day. Dubnyk's has some solid showings, lately, but its Stalock, again, apparently playing his 5th straight as Devan gets the rest until after Santaday. Former #2 for the Sharks might still be better than what the Panthers start--likely James Reimer, who would have been a good answer to my earlier question of can you name a Maple Leafs goalie worse than Freddie Krueger Ansersen (I recall Krueger going on a hot run for the Leafs right after that post, which was good for my never-dormant childhood emotional attachments, but my gambling ego has recovered and I expect Freddie to disappoint as any even premier goaltenders from Denmark and Finland(e.gP.Rinne) are several grades below the best from Canada and Russia). Where was I?...
Still considering the Wild play for Friday. Sitting +100 currently, which is no bargain with Stalock.
Wild@Lightning for Saturday is a must-consider for me, as I have had the Lightning pretty exclusively since whatever post I commented on them about a few weeks back. They look(ed) untouchable, to me, really, vs the rest of the NHL. I've been watching a ton of games this year and the past 2 years or so I've gotten totally into watching some of the great action from the past available on youtube or elsewhere--mostly the four major sports and if you want to see some fantastic hockey watch the 1987 Canada Cup.

'USSR'/Russia sported a tremendous team with Makarov, Fetisov and many other quality stovs, while Canada was there with 99 and 66 and, I tell ya, watching this shit even with 1987 technology was mind-boggling and makes me realize how lacking of some solid ace players the league currently is. I've also noticed in the NHL this year there are very few quality goaltenders, incredibly. Rule changes have increased scoring some but I think the prevalence of goals is more the crap play--especially in net--than the goofy calls, which have chilled from the initial weeks of the season. Anyways, this 3-game series with the Rusk's actually had some fantastic goaltending in it, which you have to observe to believe as both of the first two games were 6-5 finals in overtime. That's not really a spoiler as I recently watched the 3rd game 1st and then went and watched the 1st two in full as the hockey was unreal. By the way, that game #2 went to a second overtime for the 6-5 finish, just to give a hint of the goaltending there. Watch it for some good hockey. Trust me.
As for the Lightning, my personal plays have suffered two straight as my Bolts had the one goal lead in Vegas--where nobody seems to win vs the Golden Knights--and then a power play with about 6 minutes to go but no score and then a cheesy call against allowed the 3-minutes left power-play tying goal, which seemed to killed half of my Bolts risk as -0.5 regulation +131, followed by a defensive lap and, admittedly, wicked shot with 2 seconds to go killed my Bolts regulation pk at -127. Not doing many -127's these days but split my monster bolts continuation to include that so Wednesday post-witching hour my home was devoid of happy campers. I kept my play, tonight, small on Bolts -0.5 reggae -125 and with the close at -144 I didn't add shit so ... hmmm ... grrr ... Bolts still looked solid and should have won but either the first game back from a road trip angle fucked me or else the before-Chrismas-save-your-money angle fucked me.
Bolts a day to regroup and Minny will come in after this Friday game at the Florida Panthers. Bolts were -0.5 reggae -125 vs Senators and I can't imagine a great improvement on that against the Wild, though the Wild will certainly get more respect with the oddsmakers; the back-to-back situation and injured #1 goalie will negate said respect but its too early to say, with Bolts needing shoot out to beat Sens. Put me down for an 8th mortgage if I can get Lightning -0.5 regulation for Saturday. I figure Vasilevsky starts as Bolts have 4 days off after this game but I'd probably hop even at an uncertainty perspective for that, as Budaj would be better than Stalock or that dude they called up to have a backup; I must have advanced on of the 15 tabs I have open and the page is gone with the dude's name--hasn't started an NHL game in 8 years of service and hard to say if he goes or if Stalock is back-to-back.
