On the course!
Seriously.

How fucking hard is it to sink a free throw? It's the only guaranteed uncontested shot in the game. More or less, it's muscle memory.

These nitwits can knock down three pointers like nobody's business, but can't hit a free throw from a much shorter distance?

I don't get why coaches accept this.

Why miss a lay up when you just have to jump 2 inches to dunk it? Will never understand that

It really is incredible. It seems to be all about what is emphasized. Free throws rarely get on SportsCenter. Hell, sometimes they advertise while guys are shooting.

It's such a huge advantage but so many won't take the time to be reliable free throw shooters. No one is gonna be perfect and I'll give Centers a pass more or less....guards should be 90%, small forward 85% and power forward at least 80%.

I hate Coach K but those guys are tough to beat down the stretch. If they have a lead late, it's tough b/c they hit their free throws. If they're behind, they can always come back b/c the other team will miss free throws.

Guys can run and jump and shoot 3's and all kinds of dunks but they won't take a little time to make themselves the complete player and it can be the difference between winning or losing a championship. Just ask Memphis in 2008 I believe. Although I think the dude from Kansas both walked and double dribbled on that last possession of regulation lol.

And of course the real relevance....it costs us money!!!! I love UNC and hate Duke and all of what I just said drives me insane. But I just have to live with it. Carolina hit some clutch ones down the stretch a week ago but at one point they were something like 4-for-12....inexcusable.

Starts in AAU where coach's do not demand that players be fundamentally sound .

They get the best players they can and try to win every game by merely out scoring the opponent

Tell a player he has to shoot 500 FT's a day and he tells ya to fly a kite.

Same with the short jumpers..not interested.

Had this discussion with Boo Williams many times.
