Outright plays (1.5pts):
Lorena Ochoa to win 14/1 e.w. @ Stan James and William Hill
Grace Park's odds have shortened considerably after her win, but Ochoa is still the 2nd-best player on Tour in terms of scoring average and so represents better value at double Park's odds. She has finished in the top-5 in eight of her last twelve starts and can add a top-3 finish in the 2002 Japan Women's Open to her top-10 finish on this course last year. Should be good for a place win at least.
Jeong Jang to win 25/1 e.w. @ Stan James and BetInternet
Jang has been in a very good run of form recently with top-6 finishes in each of her last four events. She has yet to win on Tour, but the Korean player has been steadily improving and contending more often. She now ranks in the top-10 in scoring average this season, so in this form she is another who could certainly earn a place win.
Miho Koga to win 100/1 e.w. @ BetInternet
A place win would be a very good at these odds for Koga. No JLPGA Tour player has won the Mizuno Classic in the last five years, but Koga is certainly playing well enough to contend. Two weeks ago she was never out of the top-two and eventually finished 2nd behind Ai Miyazato, but four shots clear of Yuri Fudoh in 3rd place and then last week she was a wire-to-wire winner, holding off Yuri Fudoh to win by two shots. In her debut in this event last year, she was never out of the top-15 and buoyed by her recent form, she is capable of even better this year. the best place-only odds are 16.5/1 (Centrebet), so sticking with the each-way odds for better value.
