I was wondering if there would be any interest in forming a MJ fanatasy baseball league on Yahoo or any with any other site.

As for Yahoo we could have a draft by ranking players and let the computer do it for us or we could draft off line and then submit the teams into Yahoo. We could do the draft here in the message room or in a thread.

As for yahoo it is free but we could set up something where we pay some money and could have weekly winners. We could have MJ in charge of the money if he would do that or someone else on here that is trustworthy and willing to do it. Also someone that has the time to do it. Of course it could still be just free and just for bragging rights

Anyway please post and tell me if you are interested and any suggestions about format.

I think this would pretty fun.

I will post this baseball forum also also.

Bama, i would love to do this. I think an automated draft would be best, b/c it is very hard to make a date or time that everyone could attend... just my 2 cents

I want Tim Hudson, Frank Thomas, and gabe gross... has bama produced any players to the majors?

I would be intrested also...If it can be done i think live draft mode would be best but it is hard to get everyone together. So ill play either way

BAMA count me in buddy........I would rather draft myself instead of letting the computer do it....but if its easier to let the computer do it for everybody then so be it....just let me know.....I can help out on this if you like since i do it just about every year.

The way the draft would work is that you would rank your players by position, I think. You would then be selected the highest player from that position that is available. I am not sure how they work it out to see which players you want first when they are from different positions. I am unsure about that. I guess you might list your top players that you want regardless or something. I am not sure.

I would like a live draft also. If that can be worked out. BUT WE NEED MORE PEOPLE. Surely there are 20 people that would like to do this.

Let me know the details. If live draft, will have to let you know if the date works out. If automated, I am in for sure.

Although I did not reply to the original post, I am interested in joining. I would prefer auto draft and nominal $$.

Also I did not see how the league would be set up: Rotisserie, points, or head to head. And, if the league has not been set up already, the times available to draft live on yahoo are very slim pickens.

I have done other baseball and football live drafts on yahoo. If you pre rank your players it will fill out your starting roster first, not look at your list and pick the next player on your list. For example if you rank Piazza #1 and Posada #2 you will get Piazza if you have first pick and he is available, for your second round pick it will move to another position, not take Posada. I cut the autodraft blurb from Yahoo for further clarification:

When you are unable to draft for yourself, our computer system will make intelligent choices for you. This will happen if you signed up for an Autopick Draft or are not present for all or part of your Live Draft.
The autopick system looks at both a player's position and ranking before making a selection. The computer looks to see which starting positions you need to fill, then selects the highest-rated player based on either our default ranking or your pre-rankings to fill one of those positions.

It is wise for all managers to pre-rank players. To do this, just go to your team page and select Edit Pre-Rankings.
