I am only a casual NBA fan so my sample pool in this argument only includes the NBA playoffs and finals. I've always rooted for the underdog teams that have played against these two guys. When Jordan had the ball you KNEW it was going to be a dagger for the other team. Lebron just doesn't doesn't worry me the same way. Sorry to rehash the topic that never dies.

Well, King James promised us nine championships. This makes him either delusional or a liar. Give Kevin Durant a few years and maybe we can compare these two.

I've been an NBA fan since 1980. The King is the best athlete that I have seen on a basketball court. However I would take any of these players in a draft before James.

Jordan
Kobe
Bird
Magic

I may even add Tim Duncan to this list. Let's not forget that Mike Tyson was 'the greatest heavyweight ever' in the late 80s and early 90s and then he lost to Al Roker in Japan, spent some time in prison and bit off an ear in front of a lot of witnesses.

If James is the greatest he will prove it by the time he retires. He is not on pace at the moment.

There are no comparisons to anyone in the NBA!!

MJ's mold was broken long ago.

LeBron is a different type of player.

NBA history shows that teams that were a 'dynasty' weren't build around one player, but one player was a key in their success - Lakers of the late 70's early 80's - Built around Kareem? How about their other players? It helped that Magic came to town. In Bah-sten, Larry Bird was pretty good, but again you had Danny Ainge, Kevin Mac, Robert "Chief" Parrish, etc. In the late 90's early 2000 you had a young Kobe with already established, "ShaQ". The Heat are good but they are not in the same class as those teams I mentioned in their eras. Too much parity out there and it takes more than just one person to build a dynasty!! Just ask Jerry Jones how he's wrecked the one his team had in the late '90s in big "D".

One team I will always remember rooting for as a young teen in the 70's was the Golden State Warriors with Rick Barry, George Johnson, Clifford Ray for a trade for Nate Thurmond, Phil Smith, Keith "Jamal" Wilkes, I believe they beat the Washington Bullets with Wes Unseld 4 straight. Classic TV for me back then. I believe in 1975. Loved how Rick shot free throws under handed. Over 90%!!

Later!!
