Was Just Thinking Since Spring is Just around the corner that this might be a good time to bring up a little fun time Idea! How would you guys feel about a Golf or Fishig Trip down at the Gulf of Mexico?

I know some of you guys in Texas and Georgia, Louisianna, Mississippi, Tennesee, and lovely Alabama are not to awfully far from the Gulf! Sure would be nice to get away for a couple of days in the near future for some fishing, or some great golf down on the Coast!

This is just a thought, but I usually do one or the other perhaps both at least once or twice a year! And this would be a great opportunity for a bunch of us to get together and have a little fun and visit with one another!

Maybe if this does go down we could talk Rico into coming and we could use him as Bait!

Just a thought let me know what ya'll think!!!!!

If any of you guys don't like fishing but love to golf, I know that Bluewater Bay is a killer joint to play golf as a large group!

I went down this past fall and stayed for 4 days and played 36 holes a day and partied like a Rock Star with out my Guitar in the evenings. It is located between Destin and Panama City and is one classy little Joint for no more than it costs. I think I payed like 300.00 for the whole trip ( rooms, Golf, Lunch and Breakfast, Carts ) The place is set in about 50 acres of Florida Coast line and has Condo's or House's for rent!

Just another idea for you fella's to kick around! Don't worry if you are not that good at golf, it usually is a mute point after about the first nine holes in a day ( :drinky: :toast: :drinky: :toast: :drinky: :toast: )

If you catch my drift:)

Bluemond,

You have peaked my curiosity. I love golf, as for fishing, I can not stand it.

But email me any plans you get up and I will see what I can do with my school schedule.

You have to promise that you and wareagle will not beat the crap out of me if I get drunk and start talking shit about The Alabama Crimson Tide. ;)

Bama when it gets warm I'm coming to T-town and playing anyway! I love the University course out there past the Mall. Man I play EVERYDAY after work, hell I live right next to the course here in Cullman. I ain't real good but I love to play ( mid to low 80's, best ever 77 par 72)

But We'll play soon! I need a playing buddy since my best friend now works out of town 3 out of the 4 weekends a month!

Email me and we'll set it up soon!

Do you guys have pictures of what your city looks like?

If any of you guys have pictures of your rat holes, post them. I rarely get out of Texas and I'm curious as to what some of these places look like.

Thanks.

Fellows, I am terrible at golf (upper 90s to low 100s), but i love to play and to catch a buzz and there is nowhere better than the linx. If we can get enough people, mabeye one group could play golf and the others could go fishing, which i would love to do. I am typically a land-locked fisherman, but i would love to go deep see fishing. Dogs' place sounds pretty cool.

As for you Monk, I would take a picture of my butthole and send it, but you already know what that looks like since you live in Texass.

I'am no tourguide,

I'am no tourguide,

the thought that i read at the start of this was the gulf coast.I have been golfing & fishing on the coast, and you can't believe the great corses & tours you can get for a group. The fishing is great all year long, and the golf has been getting better &better since the "CASINO'S" started to take control of them. :D YES, I said casino's. You can play all day & all night:eek: :toast: :toast:

Blue: Played every course in 20 mile radius at least once. They have really went up on prices last few years, bout 100%.
Some good bang for bucks (under $50) is Hombre in Panama City, they played I believe a senior pga event there, and the city course in Fort Walton. Four great course at Sandestin Resort,The Links,Baytown,Burnt Pines and the newest The Raven.Owners get little relief on rates in fact if I am just going to play there it is cheaper for me to buy a week golf package including renting condo that stay at my own for free and pay daily rates.

count me in

Born and raised in Alabama, been going to Gulf Shores every year since 88 for Labor Day and following week. Great courses and rates drop that week. Know area like a local. Definitely in for golf, as for fishing, I'll catch enough salmon on the course!

Where are you from dunclock?

It is good to see some more Alabama folks in here. Also good to see Tennessee people here, since I am from Chattanooga.

Bama, born and raised in Huntsville, most of family still in that area. My nephew was the starting QB for Hartselle High the last two years and signed with Southern Miss. He definitely has an NFL arm, can throw 70 yards now and plenty of time to grow.

dunclock,

I'm sure with kin folk playing for Hartselle, you are well aware of my Cullman Bearcats, I think Hartselle beat us silly this year but that is the biggest rivalry I can think of around here! Small world huh?

Freak,

I believe they did this year. Hartselle won first eight games, were ranked #4 in state, then lost last two regular season and first round game of playoffs. I drove down to three games this year. The Hartselle coach is an idiot! My nephew had already early committed to S Miss but was getting looked at by Bama, Flor ST and Ole Miss, plus Vandy and MTSU. The frickin coach only let a Division 1 collge QB throw for an average of 10 passes a game! One of the games I went to, he only threw 5 passes all night. Needless to say, all of the "big name" schools backed off since he did not have big numbers. Oh well, S Miss has been to 6 bowl games in last 8 years and is starting to get TV time. Been to Cullman several times over the years, sell books for a living and have met with JP Myrick, the Librarian when I am there.

TAOIST,

Not only was born in Chattanooga, I have lived there my entire life (24). Further, I took myself out of state to get a real education;) at the University of Alabama. I have now been here 6 years (4 undergrad, 1 grad, 1st year law student).

I plan on coming back to Chattanooga, running for govenor, and taking control of the state in hopes that all of the vol fans see the light and convert.

If it makes you feel better, I am a Tennessee Titans fan.:D
