Rant: MJ's Fall golfing/fishing get together

Trying to put something together for an October trip to Texas.

The weather and fishing is generally excellent at this time. There are several great courses and lakes in both the DFW area or if we prefer, Austin.

There is also another option. We could do Lake Tacoma and Winstar Casino which is a huge place just over the Oklahoma line which has a hotel and golf courses as well. The casino is about an hour from Fort Worth so certainly accessible if we were to stay in DFW area.


The fishing would be the easy part as I can likely get plenty of support for boats and friends to guide everyone. Maybe even do a little tournament for fun or something



Anyway, I'm thinking first weeks in October for a long weekend.


Who would be interested in doing simmering like this?



Mess Jaek's hair up and shit.

I'm open to suggestions on the dates to be honest. The weather is pleasant into November. It can still be a bit hot in September but it isn't unbearable.
The fishing thing is more for the fun of being on the lake with friends and I will have at least two friends who are accomplished pro anglers bringing their boats to the show, so it could be fun for all even if it is just for a few hours but definitely not a necessity.

Accommodations are plentiful and rather inexpensive in the area and the golf courses are well kept and I should be able to secure great rates.


I'm all for doing this or having any get together with the madjacks folks any time and if we only get a few this year, that's fine as it will still be a blast.

I know betone was definitely interested and joshnaudi are only a couple hours away so they are required to attend. Just sayin.


Anyway, it's a thought and I hope we can make something happen with it.

And not for nothing but I think it would be a gas regardless if 1 or 100 can make it because this invitation is always open to the fine folks here.
I'm pretty sure Steve (betone) and I are going to do a weekend in that time span regardless as I think he'll be doing his fall migration south to Florida anyway. So even if it's just 4 of us or something, you're gonna have a good time.

Also, ther is a beautiful Tour 18 right here as well.
