Yesterday's Recap:
No Posted Plays

There is an abbreviated slate in MLB today, but this is one of those days where I like a ton of plays. I guess some days are like that, well here goes.....

Play: Rockies VS. Astros Over
Line: Over 10 1/2 -107
Pitchers: Astacio Vs. Reynolds
I guess I am bucking some type of trend by taking the over in Enron field lately. As the last two games the Astros played against the Rangers of all teams went under. Normally the Astros kill lefties at home. Anyway, neither team has a great bullpen, both teams have tremendous offense capabilities, and it is still Enron field. Astacio has struggled on the road while Reynolds has been horrible at home. OK I will bite, and will take the over.

Play: Cardinals (Kile)
Line: -133
Opponent: Cubs (Tapani)
Cardinals need to take this series at home. Looks like the Cubs are in it for the long haul. (Which I can't believe). Kile at home in this rivalry with the line under -150 carries some value for me.

Play: A's (Zito)
Line: +110
Opponent: Mariners (Moyer)
Too many factors are going against the Mariners to pass up the plus number on the home team. If I read my charts correctly Moyer is pitching on four days rest. Not that big of deal, but the factor of the Mariners bullpen throwing quite a few innings in the Padres series is significant. Also, looking at the over in this contest.

Play: Marlins (Clement)
Line: +140
Opponent: Braves (Glavine)
Marlins are playing the kind of baseball right now that they were supposed to play all season. The Braves and Glavine are this large of favorite on name alone. If this game was being played in 1999 I could see this line. But now? At best this is a 50/50 contest, so I will gladly take the extra 40 cents and run with it.

Good luck and be back later,
HC

adding.........

Play: Yankees Vs. Tigers Over
Line: Over 8 -107
Pitchers: Clemens Vs. Weaver
I was hoping to get 8 -110; love the added 3 cents advantage. Clemens and the Yanks bullpen is overworked. I can see Detroit getting close to getting 8 all by themselves.

Good luck,
HC

IE,
Thanks much for the heads up..... See what happens when I try to do subtraction!!!! Still like Zito and the plus number just wish I would have waited as I see the line is moving up on the Mariners and could have got more value.

Johnny Damon hitting .213 is troubling for the A's he is going to take Art Howe's job with him...... I know Damon is a notorious second half hitter, but that is ridiculous....

I will take all the luck I can get....
