8-5 +2.44 ytd

I am going to be putting up my total base plays. I have had some decent success with them. I hope it continues. Most of them are found at Olympic Sports.

Bobby Abreu -115 vs. Johnny Estrada

Estrada has never faced Meyers in his career whereas Abreu in his career has had a great deal of success against Russ Ortiz. He has had 12 hits in 27 at bats for an average of .444 and he has also had decent success against the Braves closer, John Smoltz, going 10 for 26 in his lifetime sporting an average of .385.

Houston +110

Redding is 2-0 in his last 3 having pitched 19 innings giving up just 13 hits with a whip of 1.03 and an era of 1.86. His mound opponent Marquis is 2-1 in his last 3 but has given up 26 hits in just 16 innings pitched. He is carrying a very high era of 6.75 to go along with his generous whip of 2.13. The road team in this series has pretty well dominated this year. The road team in 8-2 in the last 10 times they have met. I look for Houston to get the victory in this one.

Reds under 8 -110

The under has come in 8 times in Ohka's last 10 starts and in Wilson's last 3 the under has come in all 3 times. In the last 7 meetings between these two teams the under has come in 5 times. Both these pitchers are in very good form. Ohka in his last 3 is carrying a whip of 1.11 and an era of 1.31 while Wilson is carrying a whip of 0.82 and an era of 1.23. Both teams respective bullpens are in decent shape going into tonight's game. I look for this game to follow the tradition of this Reds/Montreal series of late and go under the total.

San Diego under 8.5 -105

These teams have done nothing but go under as of late. Milwaukee's last 10 have gone under while San Diego has gone under 8 of their last 10 games. This is a matchup of two pitchers who have struggled considerably on the year in Obermueller and Valdez but both have improved recently. In Obermueller's last 3 he has gone 18 innings giving up 18 hits while lowering both his whip and era from overall numbers of 1.55 and 6.75 to a more respectable 1.28 and 4.50. Valdez's last outing is where I am drawing my information for this game. He had some mechanics worked on in the bullpen before his last game which turned out favorably for him as he was able to keep his pitches down and get out of Milwaukee with a 5-2 victory. Both these bulllpens are in decent shape as well and I look for this one to go under the total once again.
