Record at Madjacks: 4-0 (+4.19 Units)
Been on a pretty good run of late, so thought I'd share another one with my fellow MadJackers
JUST A WARNING.....THIS IS A HOMER PLAY ALL THE WAY
CLEVELAND ?133
Before you go in shock by seeing me on Cleveland, allow me to give some reasoning. A streak is one thing, but when the situations overweigh the streak, I have to go with it.
Ricardo Rodriguez will be starting for the Tribe and most already know how high I am on this guy. He?s an up and coming superstar in my opinion. He throws a consistant fastball in the low 90?s, has a hard curve and a change up that?s getting better and better and the most important thing, is that he doesn?t fear anyone or any situation and isn?t afraid to pitch inside. If anyone on the Cleveland pitching staff can shut down the Royals, it will be him.
Rodriguez showed flashes of stardom last season as he held batters to hit for just a .219 average off him last year. This year, he?s made 2 very impressive starts. In those starts, he?s allowed a total of just 2 runs off 8 hits in 13 innings. So far this year, opposing batters are hitting just .163 off him!
One more thing that will give Rodriguez the advantage and that is having never faced Kansas City before. The hitters for KC should have a really tough time vs him especially first time through the order.
Darrell May will be the starter for they Royals in this one and there are many negatives for him today.
May is a lefty but the ?lefty? effectiveness tends to decrease when the starter preceding you is a lefty. George was yesterday starter and, of course, was a left-hander.
May has average ?stuff? at best. May?s career ERA is a very high 5.67 and has a big problem with allowing the long ball. He?s allowed 40 homers in just 198 innings over the course of his career. Against Cleveland, he has allowed 8 home runs in just 30 innings and if you look at some of the career averages of some of the Indians players, you?ll see some pretty lofty numbers. Milton Bradley, Ellis Burks, Chris Magruder, Brandon Phillips and Omar Vizuel have a combined .448 average against May.
Bottom line, I?m going against a streak and a very confident team, but I feel there are just way too many powerful numbers and situations that overweigh that and I?m willing to take a chance here with the Indians.
Good luck :thumb:
