Detroit has now been made a 14.5 point dog in there home opener on Monday night. The dome will be rocking and getting 3 scores(14.5) makes them a big play for me regardless of who they are playing. I would not be suprised to see the Rams blow them out but I would not be shocked if the Lions beat them either. Detmer's first game came with no knowledge of his teammates and their offense. He has had another 2 weeks to prepare and Moore and Crowell are over their nagging injuries combined with Morton they have formidable receivers. It's was only 2 weeks into the season with a QB change and 2 road games for Detroit and evveryone seems to be calling it a season for them. I have no allegience for this team , but they usually play well at home, they are getting a truckload of points and this game to them is huge in the scheme of their season. I think they will be ready to play. But what really makes this play a solid one for me is the Lions can still get kicked up and dowm the field and totally outplayed and still cover the spread. Public has pushed this game from 11 to 14.5, going the other way usually is the right way to go in these situation. I love the Lions. I could be wrong..I usually am.

Interesting prop bet on this game:

Total carries James Stewart 19.5 o/u

The under at -130 is very tempting. Good chance they fall behind and junk the run.

I have no handle on the total. I rarely play totals unless they jump off the page at me. This one dosen't. It would not suprise me if either team scores between 21-31 which really leaves me confused and I do not want to push a play when I really like the side. I don't think Detriot's offense is as bad as it has played.Detmer has now had time to develop timing with the receivers and Detroits core is all healthy now. They have played both their games on the road against fairly tough Dee's and besided the Ravens , Defense always plays better at home then on the road as the crowd does fire them up. Therefore I don't think the Rams defense against the Fish last week is a fair comparison as to what they will do tonight. Actually if I risk anymore on tonight's game it will be Detriot on the moneyline if anything. I could be wrong...I usually am!!
