Atlanta +128

Atlanta +128

I just can't pass this price up.

Although the Marlins won their last 2 games decisively don't forget who they were playing (washington) or how they have been playing (with the 2 wins vs. wash. they are 3-8 in their last 11 games).

Pitching match-up definitely favors the Marlins but I'll take my chances with this line on the braves, who come into this series hot taking 2 of 3 from the mets at shea. They put up an average of 6 runs a game.

Side note: Willis' wife was having labor induced today for the birth of I believe their 1st child. He was going to try and be there for the birth and then make it to the game. I am thinking that it will be hard to focus on a game under such circumstances. Could be an advantage to Atlanta.

Seattle +126

Seattle +126

I know Seattle is ice cold but you can look at it both ways, they are due to win too.

I think Baek gives seattle a good shot today and with his history against texas I think he makes Seattle a good dog play today.

From the net:

Baek will make his season debut for the slumping Mariners in place of the injured Hernandez, and try to extend his dominance over Texas when the AL West rivals begin a two-game series at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

The right-hander was 4-1 with a 3.61 ERA in six late-season starts last year for Seattle (5-9). Two of Baek's wins came against the Rangers and improved his career record against them to 3-0 with an 0.83 ERA. Baek's best outing last year came at home against the Rangers on Sept. 8 when he scattered four hits over seven innings, struck out three and didn't walk a batter in a 7-2 win.

The Mariners enter this contest having dropped a season-high six in a row to fall into last place in the division, but just two games behind co-leaders Oakland and the Los Angeles Angels.

Baek returns to the rotation while Hernandez misses two to three starts to recover from a muscle strain in his elbow that limited him to 24 pitches in a 5-4 loss to Minnesota on Wednesday. Hernandez faced only five batters, and was tagged for two hits, two walks and three runs.

Kevin Millwood (2-2, 4.91 ERA) will start the opener for the Rangers (8-10). He was on the losing end of a 6-0 defeat Wednesday night when Texas was no-hit by Mark Buehrle of the Chicago White Sox

The right-hander has alternated wins and losses in his last five starts against the Mariners, and defeated them on April 13 in Seattle when he gave up a run and seven hits through six innings of a 5-2 win. Millwood also opposed Baek on Sept. 8, and took the loss.

Mets -215

Mets -215

John Maine (2-0, 1.93 ERA) will take the mound for New York, which is undefeated in his three starts this year. Maine won his last start by allowing two runs and two hits in a 9-2 win over Florida last Wednesday.

vs.

Taylor Buchholz (1-0, 5.68 ERA) will be making his first start of the year for the Rockies. He has allowed four runs over 6 1-3 innings spanning four relief appearances this season.

This would be a double play if the juice wasn't so high.

Just really like the mets tonight. This is kind of a round about "Double Play"

Juts don't want to lay all that juice coming off a tough day for me.

Like this pitching match-up.

Silva will be making his second home start this season. He pitched 6 2-3 scoreless innings April 12 against Tampa Bay, allowing seven hits in a 3-2 win.
vs.

Sowers (0-1, 5.17 ERA) lasted just 2 2-3 innings Wednesday against the New York Yankees, allowing six runs and nine hits in a 9-2 loss.

thanks. not disappointed in the night (esp. if minny can win this one) but it hurts o be so close to one of these nice payouts and come up just short.
