After a bit of a letdown on Saturday move on to Monday. Should have know better than to trust Rattay.

Current record 5-4 +2.2 units.

Monday -

5* Tampa Bay -4

Bucs have everything you can want for a preseason game. Gruden's first game. Far superior QB rotation - Johnson, Johnson, King and maybe Hamilton. Miami has Fiedler (maybe) , Lucas - who is also banged up, Levcik, and Kustok. Plus the Bucs are home. It will be tough to find a stronger play than this one. I still believe anything can happen in any game but Tampa sure looks very good.

Be very careful about this game. Personally, I'm passing -- but to those who are knee-jerking a Bucs play, remember that Miami is coming into the season with a whole new attitude, as well. Ricky Williams in the backfield, a more experienced Fiedler at QB (Lucas a solid backup), and a new offensive coordinator with N. Turner. Dolphins got rid of that albatross rat named Gailey as OC and now should show lots of improvement. Dolphins defense is deep and probably right up there with Bucs. Furthermore, Dolphins outplayed the Rams in the opener last year and won by 7 points. I'm not playing Miami, but those 4 points are tempting. Be careful about thinking Gruden is going to go all out tonight. I expect Miami will be "up" for this game as well, especially offensively with a new more innovative system.

I don't have the stats, but I don't think Gruden was particularly strong in pre-season games with Raiders. Does anybody know what his record was as Raider coach in pre-season? Straight and vs. spread?

I read that Oakland (Gruden) is 10-2 ATS in Week 1 of the preseason in the last twelve, while Miami is 2-1 ATS in Week 1 in the last 3. For whatever that's worth. Oakland, however, was 2-5 in Week 2 and 2-8 in Week 3. Miami 8-2 in preseason Week 2 in the last 10.

Gruden was 11-7 straight up in preseason with Raiders.
He was 10-7-1 against the spread and 5-5 as favorite.

Past 2 yrs these teams have met in preseason and covered the under. I'm sure Gruden is going to turn around Tampa's pitiful offense from last year but I don't seeing them getting consistent until wk 4. Miami will look to getting some reps in for Ricky but will probably pull him early. Word is Gadsen is having a hell of a training camp. Miami 11 on 11 scrimage against Titans was telecast here and Miami was dominate on defense and are very deep on the DL & secondary. Since both teams have been practicing together this past week, players should be familiar with each others abilities and tendencies which will allow them to spend more time on executing plays. LOL !!!!
