record 5-3 +1.3 units

E. Carolina +5 3 units
Think this Marquette team is overrated. They have played only one road game this year losing to Notre Dame by 21 and have played a pretty weak schedule overall. ECU is a good defensive team allowing just 62 ppg and 39% shooting. Pirates beat Marquette 51-46 at home last year and I think they can do it again this year so will take the points.

Memphis -10 2 units
Memphis is finally healthy getting their big man back in Massie and their PG Hunt. Murray St. has had some trouble on the road losing by 19 at Auburn and by 29 at S. Illinois. Memphis is much better defensively allowing just 38% shooting at home while Murray St. is allowing 48% shooting on the road. Memphis has a lot more size as most of the Racers are under 6-8 and should control the boards. Memphis should also have a big advantage at the FT line as they are getting 22 attempts per game at home compared to Murray St. who only gets their 11 times per game which could mean foul trouble for Murray St.'s big men. Memphis should also force some TO's as they have some great athletes and Murray is committing 17.5 per game in their road games. Memphis should be able to get whatever they want inside or at least get to the line. Think they get an easy win at home.

San Fran +14.5 1 unit
SF playing well with Bayless and Broussard beating BYU and Fullerton by 12 and 14 their last 2 games. Cal doesn't have a good bench and doesn't have anyone with much of a post game. If they struggle from the perimeter SF could win this game SU. Think this game will be close so will take the points

Alabama -2 1 unit
Don't like playing road favorites but think this Alabama team is too athletic for the Utes. Alabama is a good defensive team and their guards should be able to defend the Ute's 3's in the halfcourt. Also think they will get some steals and transition baskets with their quickness. Dudley and Walker are too quick for Utah's big guys, Frost and Koford, inside and should get a lot of offensive boards and 2nd chance points while drawing some fouls as well. Think the game will be close with the Tide getting the win.

Xerri, like your Bama pick.Agree about giving up pts on the road but Tide has to many "greyhounds".Mo and E-Dub will be to much for the Utes to handle.

Xerri,a few yrs ago I read an article in a magasine about Oxford being one of the best retirement places in the country. Is there any truth to that.I'm heading south in 2005-6.
I sent for some info on the internet on real estate but they never got back to me.Just wondering...Get back to me if you can..
GL with Bama and your other picks..

just a word of warning on ecu - they haven't been the same team since point guard travis holcomb-frye was suspended for academic reasons, losing two of three. i'm acutely aware of this since i had a sizeable play on them at home against george mason before word of the suspension got out. as i understand things, herrion told him he could play tonight if he got certain makeup work done, but he has had some difficulty getting up with profs over the holidays. his status is supposed to be determined today. in any event, i think he is going to be inelgible by ncaa standards once the second semester starts. good luck with your plays.

Thanks for the warning loophole. Will stick with the play as I have not been impressed by Marquette and public is big on them tonight.

Box, Oxford is a great retirement community. It's a small town of about 10,000 and there's lots of nice neighborhoods and good places to eat. It's also a great college town which is why I am here at Ole Miss. Lots of pretty girls and also not far from Memphis if you're ever looking for something to do. You should definitely give it a look sometime. Good luck to you on your plays as well. Always look for your writeups.

adding
Tennessee Tech +2 2 units
Public is all over Western Kentucky. WK is not very deep and playing for the third day in a row with their starters playing over 30 minutes in each game. Tennessee Tech is better defensively allowing opponents to shoot under 40% on the year. Don't think WK has an answer for Kinloch inside. Think Tech beats a tired WK team.
