MONTREAL (5 - 14) at SAN DIEGO (10 - 9)
Livan Hernandez (R) vs. Jacob Peavy (R)

We're forecasting a pitcher's duel tonight when the San Diego Padres open a four-game set against the Montreal Expos.

Montreal are easily the lowest-scoring team in baseball and they have scored two runs or less in six of their last seven games. Overall this season they are averaging just 1.8 runs offensively per game and they have gone under in 15 of 19 games this season. Solid pitching and non-existent offense means they have combined for an average of just 5.6 runs per game against an average posted total of 8.2.

Expos hurler Livan Hernandez has very good career numbers against the Padres and should be good for another quality start tonight. He has gone at least six innings in each of his four starts this season and all have stayed Under the total. The 1997 World Series MVP racked up 13 outings of at least 120 pitches last season and his career average of 110 pitches per start is second only to Randy Johnson among active starters.

Jacob Peavy goes for the Padres tonight and he has allowed a total of just four earned runs in four starts this season. His stuff is good enough to keep the anemic Montreal offense in check tonight.

Recommended Play: Under 7 -115

your looking for trouble with starters that have poor k:bb ratio inside of quality starts in recent outings .....and close to 50% ball strike ratio on pitch count last game combined with low total (7,7.5,8.0u)....no matter how bad the offenses have shown ytd.

peavy 97 pitches 47bb 50 k last

hernadez 04/11 and 04/16

good luck with your play, but have the over coming in over 65% of the time in this situation.
