back over .500 with marist win last night at 15-14-1, slightly in the black because of two unit plays although my record tracks total plays only. looking to the river city fot tonight's action:

cincy -19-: gonna put this one up early because significant possibility the line will rise during the day. bearcats have big city showdown with xavier on friday but revenge motive should help them with the look-past here. rockets knocked off cincy 69-66 last year in cleveland which resulted in bearcats dropping out of top 25. evidently much crowing and trash talking by toledo players about the game has cincy players very focused for rematch. not good for toledo as greg stempin is gone along with two other starters and most of the rocket offense. only one senior on toledo this year and he is former walkon who was rewarded with scholarship for his final season. cincy average win margin this year is 30+ and huggins not the type of coach to hold his players back from feeding frenzy. i think rockets will put forth the effort but just don't think they have the weapons to keep up here. one unit play.

also looking at xavier who has have similar revenge motive vs wisky. back later with that one.

as expected cincy line has now climbed to -22. my figures make this line -20- and only considered this a play because of what appears to be extreme player motivation and bearcat's killer instinct at home. like the play under 20 but would not play at current line and may even consider a middle if line climbs to -24 by gametime.

decided to pass on xavier even though my numbers make the line -17. wisky just seems to be able to hang around and may sneak in the back door here.

did find one other solid play for tonight:

tulane -3: green wave puts a veteran team on the floor and plays a solid homecourt. main shortcoming has been a weak interior defense which should not be an issue with vandy's three guard offense. commodores rely primarily on three point shooting which plays right into tulane's strong suit as wave defending well beyond the arc holding opponents to .224% shooting from long range. tulane also has better than average team speed and excels in steals and causing to's. i make it wave by 9 or 10.

going to take back the middle here at toledo +23. i'm going to wait till right at gametime to see if i can get 23- but wanted to post it up now in case either one of my followers were interested. gives us four points to make money on. will count both plays on my record.

FWIW, I also took the middle on the Bearcats: Cincy -18 and Toledo +22.5. Four nice numbers: 19, 20, 21, 22.

Well at least we got one side. Also it will help make the line on Cincy lower for Friday's game vs. crosstown rival Xavier.
