it's a grim mood that grips the loophole household on the heels of last night's duke rout in raleigh. pack just looked unprepared. the game brought back memories of two years ago when sendek started the season 16-3 and 5-3 in the acc only to swoon in the late season and never win another acc game. a comparable experience this year will have herb spending a lot of time with real estate agents. for the record 0-1 yesterday, 82-65-3 overall. as i couldn't watch the second half of the state game last night i got an early jump on today's games. found two so far i like:
towson state +8: don't look for much home court edge in this one as towson had 809 loyal fans in the house for their win saturday over drexel. despite lack of support, towson a nice little home team so far, 5-0 s/u, 2-0 ats, including wins over drexel and rider as 7 point dogs, two teams comparable to odu. tiger defense especially effective at home, where they allow ony 59 ppg on 36% fg shooting, 31.7% from the arc. odu not much on the road, 1-4 s/u, 3-2 ats, with losses at geo mason, hofstra, unlv, memphis and a 1 point win at lowly ecu. monarch's road offense paltry at best, scoring 65.6 ppg on 37.5% fg, 31.7% 3 pt. with those statistical matchups it would appear that odu will have hard time winning @ towson by dd's, which is what this spread asks them to do.
college of chas -3-: cougars have never lost to paladins since furman joined the conference, currently 7-0. chas looked very good with dd win @ wofford on saturday, running their motion offense effectively and rebounding and defending well. furman has lost 3 in a row and 6 of last 8, and just don' t look up to this one
