Had to dig into this game. Especially since the majority of MJers were jumping on the Vikings.
Its been a strange season so far for both teams.
Minnesota coming off back-to-back losses to the Buccaneers (41-14) and Eagles (48-17), the Vikings allowed 933 total yards. Last week the Eagles rushed for a whopping 272 yards, averaging 7.8 yards per carry and finished with 487 yards of offense and 33 first downs.
Its no wonder they are ranked 30th in yards allowed per game.
Offensively Minnesota are banged up on the left side and are expected to be without starting left tackle Brad Badger (turf toe) and Corbin Lacina (calf).
Mike Strahan will be licking his chops while advancing even further to break Mark Gastineau's NFL record of 22 sacks. Strahan currently has 15.
New York beat the Cowgirls by 3 then barely outlasted the Cardinals the following week.
But with Minnesotas lackluster "D" I see Kerry & Co. pulling the minor upset.
Actually the Giants open up as a 1.5 point favorite and the betting public eventually made Vikings a 2 point home chalk.
A few trends & Stats:
Minnesota is 0-5 ATS in its last five home games when the total has closed between 42 and 45 points.
The total for this Monday night affair opened at 44.
Current line is 46. & NY + 2.5
The Vikings are 2-0 ATS as a home underdog and 0-2 ATS as a home favorite.
They are also 5-10 ATS the last 15 efforts versus teams with a winning record.
Needless to say I'm going with.......
