looking for the Vikes to wage JIHAD against a bad Giants team tonight. Vikes were humiliated last week,i expect they will play better. also they are honoring the memory of their fallen teamate this should also help add to the emotion.

vikes -2.5

inside your head
i heard a stat on the radio this morning that teams that have a ceremony during the game for retiring a number, win 34% of the time. I agree this is not a valid reason to play the Giants, but the ceremony as you stated is not a valid reason to play the vikes. And just because they got humiliated last week is not a valid reason either...perhaps they got humiliated beacause they have no defense or running game.

Not trying to 'knock' your play....just saying your posted reasoning behind is not necessarily sound.

thanks for the info on the 34%, thats a useful stat. useful info is always appreciated.

but you have to admit this isnt the same old ceremony. its not like there just retiring a jersey or presenting a statue to some old coach. there honoring the memory of a teamate who recently died. not alot of stats for those types of ceremonys?

heres more reasoning though, opinions welcome,

Vikes are haveing problems thats for sure, but they are 3-1 at home, and destroyed The Packers a couple of weeks ago. as for the Giants, they are yet to beat a good team (unless you count NO?) hell they almost lost to Arizona and Dallas.

As for being humiliated last week not being a factor i dont agree w/ you. As a former college footall athelte whos been humiliated more than once i can tell you, IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE. when you get blown out you dedicate yourself to kick some Ass the next week. Look for a pissed off Vikes team to win tonight at home.

However, the Vikes D and the Giants running game does concern me.Maybe the over is a strong play as well. what do you think?

When trying to diss the Giants(don't get me wrong, they HAVE sucked a lot)don't forget they about beat(should have) the lambs AT St. Lou. Just something to keep in mind..THISclose

edit..Rams won 15-14. Not many points for the high powered lambs to score against the Giants eh?

point well taken about the Rams game.
but these guys play so many games its hard to have a great game every week. Rams played horrible, they couldnt get it together. I dont think it had everything to do with the Giants D. hell this team gave up 35 pts to Washington, and 24 to Dallas!!!
Dallas hasnt scored 24pts all year.

thank you for the input,
good luck

also just discovered that 35 pts is the most the Reds have scored all year also...

the more you look at this game the over becomes a very tempting wager to make.

While the Vikings did suck last week and look like a team going south. What have the Giants proved this year? They lost at Denver, at Washington, at St. Louis (yes, they played well, but they lost), they won a game at KC and looked very shaky at Zona. Collins has not played well and the Vikings are just a new team at home. When they had to beat the Packers, they crushed them. They always find a way in these games, and while the defense is somewhat porous, Collins and co. aren't exactly the NFL's most explosive unit. I feel Vikes are gonna make one final stand for their season.

Like I said, the Giants have/do suck. Unforunately, both teams have screwed me royally EVERYTIME I've played them this year(for them or against them, O/U, you name it!). I'll keep on reading what the experts here have to say. I can't lean to hard one way or the other. I WANT to take Vikes.

Hey! Tell ya what guys, given my track record this year with ANYTHING involving these two teams(both are just about worthless IMHO)I'll let you guys in on who I take and the lock of the decade will be the other side!
On another note, any O/U thoughts? Over 8.5 1st quarter is tempting, how about for the half/game? Again, pretty well clueless here given the track record of these two teams. Later...THISclose

"starting" to lean the Giants way just a bit. If I could just get that Packer game out of my head!! Lost a figgin' fortune on that one. Vikes acted like they were Super Bowl locks that game. Made me sick.. Anyone?

Does anyone have any stats about these two coaches on MNF? Funny things seem to happen in the spotlight of MNF with certain coaches.

I think payback does count for a little. Strength of Jint Dee is their run stopping ability, but they are very vulnerable against the pass. Moss has not had a breakout game this year and he seems to shine onMNF , I look for him to get off tonight. I also see a little payback for the Vikes after that ass kickin the Jints handed them in the playoffs last year at the Meadowlands. What was that score , like 41-0!!!Vikes are the play for me this evening.
