i try to be positive on here, BUT

i try to be positive on here, BUT

please do us all a favor and not tell people to buy half points in college basketball and give up more juice. that is simply dumb. you have alot of stuck young people spending thier hard earned money and fools like you are simply leading them down the wrong road. i'm sorry i had to do this on your thread RIGHT SIDE, but if one of us that is more experienced and better seasoned does'nt you will be sending yourself and more of the younger generation into further debt. Rule of thumb in giving half points is simply don't do it unless in football the number is 3. some will tell you 3,4,7,. I will tell you only 3. take it as constructive critisism and good luck to you and your followers.

HEY RIGHT SIDE WELCOME ABOARD AND LOOKING FORWARD TO YOUR POST IN ALL 3 SPORTS. YOU NEED TO FORGIVE ARROW FOR HIS NAME CALLING HE MUST HAVE GOT UP ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE BED TODAY. NASTYNESS! IS NOT THE NORM HERE AT MAD JACKS OR TELLING PEOPLE HOW OR WHAT THEY SHOULD DO WITH THEIR PLAYS. I KNOW ALOT OF TOP AND SEASONED CAPPERS WHO DO THIS DAILY AND FOR A FINE LIVING. I WISHED MY LOCAL OFFERED 1/2 PTS.,JUICE IS SMALL COMPARED TO LOSING A BET.THERE IS ENOUGH INFO OUT THERE, SO NEWBIE'S SHOULD NOT BE WAGERING IF THEY DON'T KNOW THAT AND ALOT MORE.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND PAY NO MIND TO THAT NONSENSE, AND SOMEONE WHO HAS 52 POST, WHAT NERVE SOME HAVE. :nono: MAXY

well arrow is right. sure the half point will save you at times, but in the long run it is a loser and simply makes you have to have a higher win % for "break-even." I saw the math once and it is pretty clear. even in fotts the game lands on 3 so rarely (compared to what you might expect) it is even questionable

SUN TZU NO! HE'S WRONG AND YOUR WRONG, IT'S LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE IN WHAT WE DO. IT'S A MATTER OF CHOICE AND FINDING THE RIGHT TIME AND SPOTS TO BUY THE 1/2 EITHER WAY, IT'S A SMALL PRICE TO PAY, TO GET THE WIN OR PUSH. NOBODY IS SAYING TO DO IT ON EVERY BET BUT IN CLOSE TOURNEY GAMES, ECT.ONE HIT COULD WIN OR SAVE YOU A FEW HUNDRED $$$. I'VE BEEN GAMBLING ONE WAY OR ANOTHER FOR 40 YRS.
JUST REMEMBER THIS POST THE NEXT TIME YOU LOSE A BET BY A 1/2. IT HAPPENS TO ME A FEW TIME A WEEK, I WISHED MY LOCAL OFFERED IT. MY EARNING WOULD BE MUCH HIGHER, TRUST ME. YOU MIGHT BET OFFSHORE AND FIND SOMEONE OFFERRING 3 INSTEAD OF 3 1/2, SO THIS MIGHT NOT REFER TO YOU.

Hey guys..thanks for the replies. As for the Notre Dame game, I found out this morning it's not a home game, but still a strong play for me. NO CHANGES!!

As for the 1/2 point buying. Well, like I've told anyone who comes into my threads I recommend following what I post. Like many of us, I've been burned by that 1/2 point too many times in all sports and when I do buy that 1/2 point it's only a gut feeling thing. I DON'T buy 1/2 points all the time. Just when I'm going over the lines if a game stands out to me and I feel that 1/2 point can screw me, I'm going to buy it. A lot of the times the games win and cover anyway, but like a poster replied earlier, if you can't afford spending a few extra bucks on a 1/2 point then you shouldn't be betting. I can see his point there. But, hey just play my plays however you want....I'm here to help whoever is interested. That 1/2 point usually doesn't even play a factor most of the time, but it makes me feel A LOT better when I know my money is on that game and I just RECOMMEND you doing the same when I do. With that said, I hope I explained myself good enough and let's make some profit today!! Good Luck!!

I'm a newbie, but I agree with the (non)-buying of points. You're better off taking all that EXTRA cash that you spend on point-buying and opening up ANOTHER off-shore account. If we have 3 or more offshore accounts, we can then SHOP for the best lines..... and perhaps pay NOTHING for that "extra" 1/2 point. The more "outs", the better your advantage.... and you don't have to "buy" anything!

Simply some advice. We, sun arrow and myself, are not commenting on you or your plays.
Buying points in basketball is a very bad proposition. The math proof of this has been done and explained in detail in many forums. Too put it in a quick summary: 1/2 pt is approximently .008 of the total points scored by the average college team.. 'THEY' charge 0.1 in vig, which means, either you win less or lose more.
Think about it.

WTF does number of posts have to do with anything, excect how fast you type or how much free time you have.

Hey Arrow....no hard feelings about you calling me a "fool" and for making "dumb" decisions on the 1/2 pt thing. All I'm going to say is that is the way I bet and it hasn't come close to losing me all of that money you guys are saying it has. But, that's me. Yes, I agree. Other younger people could lose more, but I've been doing this over ten years and have had much success and buying the hook has saved me MANY more times than not. Like I stressed before...I DO NOT buy 1/2 pts all the time. Just with certain games I strongly feel it is needed. Believe me, I do not want to steer anyone the wrong way. I honestly can't believe this has turned into such a big deal. You guys are acting like these games lose every time when you buy the 1/2 pts and all of this extra juice is being lost. It is not that way and hasn't been that way with me...you'll see. Anyway, we all do what we feel is right and I respect all of you who don't believe in buying 1/2's in basketball, but in return I expect respect back from you for my decision. All I know is I've had much success doing this over the years and this buying 1/2 pts has not even been an issue or factor. Now that we all got our opinions out on this...let's put it behind us and make some damn $$$ together. Good Luck!!

if you have a gut feeling that the 1/2 point could come into play and screw you, what the heck are you even doing playing the game?

in your original post, you say:

i have two big plays for you........notre dame (bought half) and michigan (bought half)

if thats not a gambling oxymoron, i dont know what is. you want people to follow a big play.......but youre not confident enough to play it at the current line.

and as for the poster who said "if you cant afford spending a few extra bucks buying half points, you shouldnt be gambling"

are you kidding me?

That is the other obvious point If you really think the 1/2 point is meaningful it is not a game you should even be playing.

You guys are unbelievable in here!!!!!!!! I am starting now to get irritated!!!!!! Either play the plays I post or DON'T!!!!!!! It is an option and a person's own DECISION to buy a half pt. That is why it's there at every book as an option to do. I can see if I'm losing tons of picks I give out, but I'm pretty sure I've been giving out winners here so far and I'm still getting slack here...I don't get it.
I am just RECOMMENDING giving up a few extra bucks and buying the 1/2 pts today for the games. If you don't want to, don't do it. I still think the games are strong plays, but if it comes down to you losing by that 1/2...don't cry about it. In my past experiences this extra juice being spent on the 1/2's has played a very MINIMAL factor because the games usually cover easily or I do get saved by that 1/2. That's just MY OWN experience. Not talking for others or for your records you show of buying 1/2's. I can careless about those records. All I know is it's worked for ME!!!

'In my past experiences this extra juice being spent on the 1/2's has played a very MINIMAL factor because the games usually cover easily or I do get saved ''
