Love Monday night home dogs and we got a good one tonight in Minnesota. This should be a great game and while the line could move a little against us by the time kickoff rolls around, that won't be a problem in the long run as the home team dressed in Purple is going to win this one outright by at least a touchdown. This Minnesota team is solid and they're still both under-appreciated and under-valued. As a team, theyre feeling a tad disrespected, even after their convincing win last week at Seattle. Head coach Brad Childress has brought a sense of discipline, pride and respect to this organization and they'll be jacked for this game. They have played well at home (2-1 SU and 3-0 ATS and out-played Chicago in a field goal loss) this year and they will again tonight in this outright win.
New England has been playing steady football and I was all over them last week with a 1000 dime winner at Buffalo. Still this will be the team's toughest game to date as their list wins is hardly impressive. It includes victories over division patsies Buffalo (twice), Miami and New York, as well as overated Cincinnati. The one true good football team they've faced, Denver, whipped New England 17-7 in Foxboro. And next week they welcome in Indy. With a very loud and disruptive crowd behind them, I see this Minnesota defense giving NE lots of trouble tonight. They rank sixth in the league in points allowed (15.8 ppg) and seventh in total yards allowed (277.8 ypg). They lead the league in rushing yards allowed (71 ypg) and no opponent has scored more than 19 points on them. They'll stuff the run and force New England's so-so passing game to make touigh plays in pressure situations. Minnesota's opportusitic defense will make plays and keep New England contained.
New England has injury issues up front along its defense line and the ball-control attack of Minnesota will be able to control clock and move the sticks. They will pound and pound and pound Chester Taylor. He may get stopped for two quarters, maybe three. But ultimately he's going to break one and go for a mile. This Minnesota offense, behind the smarts and leadership of quarterback Brad Johnson, is patient like no other. They're not pretty, but they are effective. The dog and the home team (both 5-3 ATS) have been the play on Mondays this season and we're getting both tonight. Minnesota will bring it from the opening kickoff and it will score this outright victory tonight.
