Both teams enter tonight with 2 game losing streaks...but I think Minny is the more 'desperate' team. Got smoked at Georgia, and even worse, lost at home to NC-Wilmington after leading by 9 at the half. Minny enjoys one of the better homecourt advantages in college baskets and get an Oregon team that doesn't travel well. Lost at UMass, followed that with an inexplicable to loss to a weak Portland team. They haven't played in 8 days..could be a little rusty..Minny has played 2 games in that span. Gophers need a quality non-conference win..can't afford to lose another at home..not good if they have any hopes for an at-large bid..Oregon has one they can hang their hat on already, pummeling Lousiville..so I feel this is a game Minny is really going to be focused on taking. At home, non-conference opponent who doesn't travel well playing in a tough arena, probably get the advantage with the striped-shirts tonight...all they need to do is win the game. Sounds good to me.
