Louisville -12

Also I'm still looking at Cincinnati-Richmond. The line opened at Cincinnati -18.5. If the number goes over 20, I'm taking Richmond and the points. Cincinnati is coming off a 20 point win over crosstown rival Xavier who lost star David West to an injury at the half.

The game against Richmond is the first game of a tournament where the Bearcats play at home on Monday night and then fly to Vegas where they play Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I've got to believe that Huggins will rest his key guys early in this game and there will be a little bit of a look-ahead to the trip to Vegas. 20 points is a lot for a team that is only scoring 75/game.

UC's game against Richmond is the first round of the Las Vegas Classic, which has a unique format.

The four opening games are on individual campuses. The next three rounds are at Valley High School in Las Vegas. The eight teams in the tournament are divided into two four-team pools. Cincinnati's pool contains Richmond, Mississippi State and Louisiana-Monroe. The other pool has Purdue, Southwest Missouri State, Texas A&M and Illinois-Chicago. After the first three rounds, teams will be ranked in their pools and matched against corresponding teams from the other pool Saturday.

The Bearcats play Louisiana-Monroe on Thursday and Mississippi State on Friday.

Be a little careful with Tennesse Tech....they get guard play from some talented kids....Not saying to not take Loisville...just beware of them.

Get call with Richmond....

Another one you might want to look at is Pepperdine...Georgia is playing at Pepperdine on a one day stop before going to Hawaii...the kids may be thinking of the islands.

DD -- thanks for the heads up on TT, I'll look at that game again even though my system has a strong signal to play Louisville.

Adding Pepperdine -1 (bought the half point)

Pepperdine loves these big games, they've haven't been playing too well of late, I think they get it together again tonight.

Richmond +20.5

I bought a point and a half on this one to get on the other side of 20, IMO a key number in college hoops.

The more I think about this play the more I like it: the UC starting five played most of the game vs Xavier(Mcelroy played 39 minutes, Logan 38, Davis 36, Stokes 33), I think Coach Huggins will want to rest them tonight before they get on an airplane for Vegas to play 3 road games in 72 hours against better teams.

Plus there is probably some emotional letdown from the big crosstown win at Xavier.

If you like Cincinnati here, the way to play them is -10 at the half.

Cincy doesn't have a lot of depth. I'm sure that Coach Huggins will rest C Donald Little early in this one as Little has been overworked this year as the Bearcats weakness is underneath. Richmond is a poor rebounding team but if Little goes out early in the second half that might give the Spiders a chance to even things on the boards.

superbook,

for what its worth, i see where you are buying points. wanted to let you know that one of my sportsbooks (sportsinteraction.com) has great dog lines. for instance they have richmond at +21 and tennessee tech +13. just wanted to give you a heads up, so maybe you don't have to be buying points. they are very reputable as well. have been using them for a year, and no problems whatsoever. on the contrary, they have pepperdine at -2.5. thats why i use more than one book, as well as my local. has worked to my advantage on numerous occasions. good luck.

Thanks for the heads up. I do always see those sportsinteraction big dog lines on covers.com but I've never had an account there. I should probably open one.

I haven't done a lot of analysis on the subject, but I'm a big fan of buying a half point or full point in college hoops. I hate to get the hook and if you win you get the extra juice back; it's kind of like an insurance policy or something.

Thanks for the heads up on TTech, that was my big play of the night. I can't believe that Huggins didn't call off his dogs in that Cincy game.

I'm going to make it a nice winning night by taking my Pepperdine play off the table, adding:

Georgia +3.5 (bought one point)
