I wanted the cards game 1 but wasn't sure of getting a good start by Lynn or whether or not Bumgarner would turn around his recent struggles. Here, I prefer Carpenter to Lynn and prefer going against Vogelsong rather than BumG. My biggest concern will be Carpenter's duration as this will only be his 5th game since rehabbing from injury and the pen worked most of the game yesterday. Still, Giants pen got a workout, too, and Vogelsong hasn't been going deep the last while, though he has rebounded nicely from a crappy stretch in August and September. cards pen has been solid, as well, and the cardsticks look to be the best--hottest, at least--currently in the playoffs. I think the cards can smell a back-to-back and, dagnabbit, I chickened out of my WSeries play a few days back on same (think it was +560 or so); NL, of course, getting home field advantage due to that shutout in the ASgame way back when. Carpenter is 10-2 in postseason games, for whatever that's worth; I'll take him over Vogelsong almost always but this is a riding the hotter sticks play.
Shit, do I ever want part of that Verlander thingee tomorrow but look at the price:facepalm: . Runline, maybe, but very early forecast is a medium wind in from right-center and we're not really seeing the Tigers have any big innings--not getting the job done with runners in scoring position.
