PRONGER, SHELLEY ON THE WAY -- Blue Jackets coach Dave King is hoping that left winger Ray Whitney, who sat out Saturday's 2-0 loss to the Colorado Avalanche because of food poisoning, will be able to provide some instant help on the power play tonight. Center Serge Aubin (bruised leg/groin), who played only one period against the Avalanche, might need another couple of days' rest. So might right winger Kevin Dineen (groin).
Faced with a shortage of forwards, the Blue Jackets yesterday recalled center Sean Pronger and left winger Jody Shelley from Syracuse. Pronger has seven goals and 15 points in 13 games with the Crunch. Shelley has eight points and 165 penalty minutes
