I was there for the first time in November. I think it's the best kept secret in North America.

....Although - I see you are an Anglophone ...or whatever that word is for English Canadians. They will expect you to speak French. But if you lie and say you are American, they will let you slide. That's the attitude I ran into anyway - it was actually good to be American! Quebecoise want other Canadians to speak French, since they know you had to learn it in high school.

Of course they greatest feature was the women. I was very impressed.

I ran into nothing but very accomodating. It helps to go into it a bit humble. I think they just expect you to not assume they will speak English.

Like...instead of just spouting something in English when you approach someone, say "Parlez vouz Englaise?". They all speak English of course, and usually that's all they'd like to hear first.

I think we make the mistake of assuming Quebec is like France. Think about it....they are no more France than we are England. They play hockey for christ's sake. Other than language, very littel in common with France. Actually, there's not much you can compare Quebec too. It's very unique I thought.

LOL.. Funny stuff up above!!!!

Montreal is great. Women are fun but French is the language of choice. I live in Toronto but went there a few weeks ago and it was great. People in MOntreal are not as stuck-up as in Toronto. You can smoke everywhere it seems. St. Catherines is a good street to party. There are a lot of clubs there and the girls are actually pretty friendly. If you're over 21, go to St. Laurent's Club district. You need to be 21 to get into most of the places there but on St. Catherines 18 (i think) is legal. Personally I like St. Catherines cause people are fun and the little boys are no match for the men :)

Strip Joints.. now thats a dangerous topic. Some places look like complete GARBAGE, inside and out. We went to a hole (not knowing) called Karmasutra and it was gross, we left 5 minutes later. There are peep shows and some places are either very nasty or have nasty women in there. I'm sure some people here who live in MOntreal probably know where the 'good' strip joints are but don't just take a chance and pick one on your own, you might get really scared. Personally, I dont like strip joints in Montreal cause the clubs are awesome and drinks flow till 3:30am.

The language of choice is French so it would be better if you introduce yourself as an American right off the bat and at least they will turn off the french crap.

Great place to visit but its pretty dirty. Cabbies want to take you for a ride so try to get a hotel near the downtown core. Use Hotwire.com to get a room and you'll get it cheap. Go to the door of some of these hotels and they try to rob you with their crazy prices. Almost every street seems to be a 1 way so it seems like the cab is going in circles when in fact thats the only way. Its also gets pretty windy there so have some warm stuff at the hotel just in case.

Don't know what else to say but have fun, bring some rubbers and as long as you like to dance you should be able to see some action on St. Catherines street.

TORONTO IS THE BEST!! Montreal is the best to f**k :)

Have fun.

i would recommend old montreal if you're looking for chicks....i have always found an over abundance of the opposite sex there....
