Talk is that when Millen was hired it was in thoughts that he WOULD bring Mooch to Detroit. Even a year layoff if Steve would have sat out was going to bring some backlash, so the deal had to be done. If for some reason after his SF departure that didnt happen, Ford and Co. would have parted ways with Millen. Thats how much he meant to the organization.

This comes from a guy who broke his remote by tossing it across the living room while watching the draft when Detroit picked Harrington. Now Steve is supposed to be the answer ala Holmgren grooming QB's. Sheesh, wasn't too long ago I was having my emails read on air by Kiper on how McMahon was an absolute steal in the fifth round for the Lions and how when they tanked the season that Batch should have been benched. If we (thats right, Im a hardcore Lions fan,) dont take Rogers or get a decent deal to downgrade our position and still get him I will have no choice but to go with a nice Plasma. Only until then will I justify the replacement cost. Dont start with the 'universal' retort, its not the same. I have buttons that I need.
Also, if you're reading this and a fellow hardcore Lions fan.... AND you DONT hate Seattle for what they've done to us.... your alliance is null.

I have many friends in Detroit and have always thought that the Lions' fans deserved better. This is a great move for them and will hurt the beloved Bears in the long run. They still need to overhaul their entire offensive line to fit this system and that will take some time, but this is a good move.

There is some youth and talent in the line with Jeff and Dom, so I like the foundation. Of course signing busts like Gibson didnt help along the way. The fans have been suffering ( I occasionally bring up our last playoff win vs. Dallas, hmm that was almost a decade ago.)
BBC - IX stands for InsomniaX, as you can tell from my previous post after 3 a.m. I just don't get a lot of sleep. Out in Vegas from Thursday - Tuesday for the Superbowl I logged in about 14 hours total downtime.
