Did anyone else think that the kid playing the bookie looked like Oscar De La Hoya?

Did anyone else wonder why the sports books in Las Vegas would pay a guy a $18,900 payoff in $20 bills?

Did anyone else notice that those "twenties" had Beethoven on them, and not Andrew Jackson?

Does anyone else think that Andrew Jackson looks like Peter Gammons?

Does anyone think I am having a pretty dull Saturday?

Don't know the answers to all these questions......As far as being paid in all 20's I can believe.... aren't 50's considered a jinx in VEGAS?? I know they have always been considered bad luck for payouts in horse racing. And to tell you the truth, the last time I was in Vegas and cashing some tickets in at the sportsbook, they asked me if I cared if they paid me in fifties.


I tell you what, I did think the movie was pretty good. Kinda thought it would suck, but really did enjoy it.

When was it on? Is on it on again? I would love to see it. Back when I was in college Sports Illustrated (early 90's) came out with stories about gambling and college students. We posted it in the fraternity house and got a kick out of it. Did anyone else ever read it? Thanks

...actually watched it again this afternoon. it's really not a bad movie, quite enjoyable in fact. oh man, if i were a 21 year old college studant with over (what was it?) $200k in cash....

...guess the lure of easy money will always bite cha in the :moon: , huh? :shrug:

...i did notice that "big red," who was supposedly killed by his columbian drug suppliers, didn't seem to have a scratch on his body....

...i wouldda made it look like he was shot in the back of the head, but that's just me.

...and the scenes with the strippers were a nice bonus.
