DOGE posted, “$1.9 billion of HUD money was just recovered after being misplaced during the Biden administration due to a broken process.”




HUD Secretary Scott Turner announced the creation of the DOGE task force within HUD.

Fox News reported:

HUD Secretary Scott Turner worked with DOGE to “fix the issue” and “de-obligated the funds which are now available for other use by the Treasury.”
On Thursday, Turner announced the creation of a DOGE task force within his agency.
“We will be very detailed and deliberate about every dollar spent in serving tribal, rural and urban communities across America,” he said in a video posted on X.
Turner said his team had identified $260 million in savings just two days prior. DOGE has identified billions of dollars in questionable spending.
With the help of DOGE, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin said he has canceled a Biden-era $50 million environmental justice grant to an organization that believes “climate justice travels through a Free Palestine.”

Apparently, as everyone has known since its inception, Congress doesn't do it's job.

Since Elon is doing the job of hundreds of elected officials so well, why isn't Trump firing them?

But, I still want to know how any of this smoke and mirror theatrics helps you? You still haven't answered how much more is going into your bank account over this?

Agreed. Congress is and has been horrendous. Too much of a DC culture. We need to find a way to get all of the establishment types out of there. Unfortunately , you need congress to institute term limits and age restrictions on themselves which I don’t see happening in my lifetime.

Sounds nuts, but I agree that a billion here or there isn’t going to change anything for me (or presumably for cricket ) on a personal level, but it’s time for efficiency. I don’t even want or need any changes on a personal level. I’m more worried about what we’re leaving for my ( our ) kids. In three years, if the debt is lower, we will have all won.
